If someone were to apply for an audition, does it matter what editing app they use if they participate in a mep?
not at all! so long as their editing app can do 16:9 and isnt just vertical video or square, they're welcome to join

As someone who wants to open up their own mep studio how many recruits do you think I should aim for? Like how many people for the first video? I guess a better question would be if you remember, how many recruits did you start out with when you first dropped your first audition video?
it depends on a few factors! do you want to edit to full songs or shorter/partial songs?
full songs are about 3 min on average, most people prefer to do mep parts between 10-20 seconds. so you'd want like 9-14 parts, and if you don't want people doing multiple parts, you'd need at least that many editors.
i will say - probably be prepared to do more than one part. you could split the meps into longer parts, but editors are less willing to edit mep parts that are longer than 20 seconds (in my experience)
anyway back to your original question - i (carro) am not the original founder of ccs, but from what i can tell, i believe there were 25 editors in ccs when it first started and we were able to get a lot of meps done pretty quick
CCS auditions are open!

Has your channel ever got a copyright strike? If so, what did you do?
a few times! especially back in the day lol the only show we ever got a strike for was ATLA and that i contested under fair use, but for music i cant fight that so ive had to pitch the song or find a suitable cover replacement

Hello, is there any way I can join your studio?
we have auditions about once a year, the next audition period isn't planned yet but it'll probably be spring/summer :)
