Carefully, you lift the tray from the kitchen island and walk toward your bedroom at the end of the hallway.

You huff, crossing your arms with a playful pout. “No. Can’t I spoil my husband without there being a reason? You do it all the time.” Another smile tugs at his lips.
“You’re right. I’m sorry, honey.” He wraps an arm around your waist, glancing at the tray. “All this for me?” You nod, warmth blooming in your chest.
Hiromi is an incredible husband. He deserves this and so much more. “It looks delicious. Will you share it with me, honey?” How could you refuse?
He tears off a piece of pancake and offers it to you. It’s cheesy—something you two used to do when you were dating—but you can’t deny him, so you take the bite.
“Mm.” You’re proud of your cooking, and you smile when he pops a piece of bacon into his mouth.
