I'll never forget the time me and Ben Folds did an art trade 😂😂😂 At the meet and greet with Ben, I gave him the painting I did of him in 2011. When I make art, I listen exclusively to Ben/BF5, anything else seems too distracting and doesn't quite flow with how I do my work. It's never been something I can explain. But I figured I owed Ben for being such a great muse to me for the past 9 years, so I gave him my painting, a pretty big piece of my heart, considering I rarely hold onto my art, I often throw it away after I get tired of looking at it for longer than I think I need it. He told me "That's incredible, I can't draw a face that looks like a face. I can only draw these Fred Flinstone looking people, like this" and he took the envelope that his photograph (to be autographed) was in and drew his "Fred Flinstone looking person". Not sure if he knows how much what he thinks is a little scribble means to me, but Ben, if you're seeing this, your doodle has become my most prized possession. Thank you so much and I'll see you again some day 🎹
