What is it about museums that makes me want to fall in love?
Strolling through a gallery, picturing that I’m worthy of
Someone to hold my hand like I’m another work of art
But instead, I walk alone and every painting breaks my heart
I never thought I’d try to kiss you until the night I found us there
Weaving through exhibits, laughing like the perfect pair
Every darkened corner whispered that I should pull you in
God, I never wanted you as much as I did then
And I know that it’s all ruined now, each display and artifact
Every museum I step foot in will only take me back
To wanting you so badly it almost drove me mad
A lifetime of reminders of the love I never had
