For July, we're celebrating 3 years of the Steddie Microfic Challenge!

Because it's such a big milestone, we're shaking things up a bit. Instead of one word and word count for the month, we will be doing 4 words and 4 word counts throughout the month!

July 1-8: | three, 333 words | three years since the incident, three pointer, threesome, three more minutes

July 9-16: | years, 444 words | years later, through the years, haven't seen someone in years

July 17-24: | micro, 555 words | microfiche, microbiology, micro--*ahem*

July 25-31: | steady, 666 words | steady beat, steady hands, steady income

As a reminder, the word count for the prompt should be exact according to wordcounter.net. Make sure to copy and paste it there first before tagging us! We will comment with '🥧' when the word count has been confirmed and the post has been added to our queue.

All posts are due at 11:59 PM EDT on the day before the last day of that prompt's week (for example, all posts for the prompt 'three' should be submitted by 11:59 PM EDT on July 7th). Please don't submit for a prompt early! Part of the fun with this month's challenge is keeping the prompt posts separate each week.

Some people have been asking me to start doing my monthly posts promoting Stranger Things events I find around the web again.

I’d like to remind everyone that there’s already a community here on Tumblr that does a great job keeping track of events and staying up to date. That said, if people really want these posts back, I’m happy to do them again! Since they take a lot of time to put together, I’ll only be making one master post that includes every possible ship.

So please be kind to each other, and let’s keep the character bashing out of it.

With that in mind, here’s a poll to see if people actually want these posts back or not. 🙃

JOYREN WEEK 2026 | July 4th - July 10th

Totally inspired by a post by the user JopperWeek (who are creating an awesome idea by dedicating a week to Jopper), I thought it would be really fun to celebrate Joyren for a week! Why July 4th? Because that’s the day that they had their cute interaction at the festival in season 3 (and it just so happens to be rounding the corner.)

To celebrate our favorite Hawkins moms, I created a week’s worth of ideas including ideas for fanfics, fan art and edits. And if there’s anything else you’d like to share about Joyren, share it! And you obviously do not have to follow the specific prompts and ideas I wrote. These were just the few that made the cut (I have so many more) that I figured I’d use as examples. This is my attempt to revive Joyren. Come on. They’re too special to let go just six months after the finale.

Welcome to Stoncy Week 2026! This event runs from July 19th – 25th and is dedicated to Steve, Nancy, and Jonathan from Stranger Things. Acceptable fanworks include fanfiction, gifs, graphics, video edits, fan art, podfics, playlists, and more. Tag #stoncyweek2026 and/or @stoncyweek2026 when posting your creations.
