daeun has always been cautious at these events. she’s sure she’s not the only one here with an ulterior motive. sure, some people are here to party and have a good time. it’s more likely, though, that the majority of them have a specific task they set out to accomplish. “well, i was invited.” she’s suspicious of jahye, so she tries to keep the conversation light. daeun smiles and takes a sip of her drink. “i’m not one to turn down an invitation to the hottest social event of the season. i assume you’re here on an invitation too? unless somehow you managed to sneak in?” she tilts her head as she questions the other girl. “i know that’s not what you wanted to hear,” daeun says with another chuckle. “but i am here to have a good time. what about you?”

it’s a bit of a disappointing answer, but what had jahye expected? that this daeun would spill her whole life story and all her secrets? jahye looks away for a bit, a pout showing up on her lips, a bit unsure what to say next. “i was invited of course” she turns her eyes back to daeun, resuming their conversation. “i’ve been invited quite a few times, yet i’ve never noticed your face before” she looks away briefly “well i suppose there’s a lot of faces here…”.

“it’s a bit uneventful, but i didn’t do anything special when i found out about it. i think it was more of after the drama ended that i did some things to celebrate the occasion. for instance, i created my own memory box where i put in some of the items that reminded me of the drama. i think i even put some of my scripts there because i’d always prefer the physical version of it over the digital.” aeri explained, wondering for a brief moment where she had placed the box. “i kept it to remind myself of everything that happened during that period of my life.” she added belatedly with a warm smile. “the nice thing about having extensions is that if your hair is short and you need it to be longer for just a day or two, there’s always that option.” she reasoned. thanks to the conversation they were having, the thought of having shorter hair (even if it was just a wig) seemed tempting for aeri and one that she would consider doing as long as she didn’t have an acting project any time soon. “about two months ago? so it’s really not that long.” aeri confessed. she’s seen some of the videos other actors and models have released and was impressed by how many episodes some of them have released. “during my early acting days, i like the privacy i had with people knowing me strictly for my work or music. but after a while, i did see some people wondering how i was behind-the-scenes. i know some people could get that from behind-the-scenes content that legacy releases, but it feels nice to be able to share other hobbies i do in my spare time and see people comment and share tips about those hobbies.”

“eh! that’s cute though, i do like that idea” she nods with a smile sitting on her lips. cherry doesn’t ever want to forget about her actress journey, and having something to remind her of her achievements could be a good idea, cherry just isn’t exactly sure how she’d do it. “i hope there doesn’t go to soon before it’s my turn… i know i’m still not the best actress and i have far to go, but i’ll work hard to become better”. it almost felt weird to be so passionate about something, cherry was used to sucking so bad at everything she would barely even try.

“oh? that’s not that long…” she says, a bit of surprise in her eyes. “before i had my youtube channel though, i had my youtube show and podcast, so my fans didn’t exactly see a new side of me when i got my youtube channel” she shrugs “i guess the new side of me is actress cherry, i think… i think my fans are used to me being goofy and unserious, but i hope they’ll be able to see me as more than just that” she bites her lip. “my youtube channel is still a way bigger success for me than my acting career, and i don’t mind being known as a youtuber, i just hope… people will give my acting a chance too” she shrugs.

( prev. ) with a loud thud goes cherry’s head and jino knows he’s not alone in his fret over mixed up words and the inability to become a professional tongue roller — he wonders if that’s a learned or birthed trait, maybe he should practice — but he bites said tongue rather than saying so. “i was going to say something but unfortunately all that comes to mind are bad bunny lyrics and i don’t think that would help either of us.” jino laughs, “shakira would be disappointed.” badly butchering spanish was something he’d rather save for the comforts of his home rather than a classroom with ears, eyes and witnesses. “let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. the professor didn’t say anything …” or had he? everything had happened so fast that jino wasn’t even sure from his para or his por.

cherry was very surprised back when she had learned japanese. when cherry came to korea, her korean was… very bad. she’d struggled like hell back then when learning the language, and had told herself she would never study a new language again, then legacy forced her to learn japanese. it repeated, cherry promised herself she’d never learn another language again, three was more than enough. weirdly enough she ended up learning a bit of german (storyline; her and a friend learned german to secretly speak with each other, cherry did in fact barely learn german). now at last, she was forced to study a new language once again, this time spanish.

he had to admit, it was nice to do something a little bit different. he had been doing nothing but going-- even when he was told to stop. he couldn't ever really *stop* though. it didn't feel right, and even though the 'hard' part of debuting was over and such, now he had a whole different hill to climb in the sense of making sure to prove why he had in the first place. but now, he could just-- well. fix whatever had went wrong with this. it was a bit endearing, how she had managed to get herself in such a conundrum. he grins a bit, looking over but he's shrugging. "don't worry. that's why i'm here." he offers, and with a determined exhale, seems to start taking it apart so he can figure out how to put it back together again. "don't thank me, really." he says, chuckling a bit lowly. "you've got to keep your strength up, yeah?" he offers as he looks over with a big grin and shakes his head. "i won't take the money. i don't mind, really."

it was almost unbelievable that this wasn’t cherry’s first time living alone. she’d been kicked out at eighteen, and had to find her own place, without the help of any family, it feels like such thing should make you grow up fast, but cherry… never really even grew up. her lack of skills for the most important and basic skills, would have you thinking she moved out yesterday. she sucks at cleaning, she sucks at cooking, she sucks at basically every house chore, yet somehow she manages to live alone. well, since reconnecting with her father, at least this time there’s someone to ask for help from, along with friends, like jasper for example.

BAILE INOLVIDABLE

it is unfortunate but jino has not been particularly well-versed in spanish — unless you include watching the super bowl halftime show which featured bad bunny — but jino didn’t think that meant much, nor were the constant replays of baile inolvidable or me porto bonito on his playlist. tapping his pencil along the table, he lazily looks over the notes he had taken during the workshop and was wondering just how much he would be able to successfully recite if ever prompted on the spot. yea, languages were definitely not his strongest of suits.  “you don’t think we’ll have some sort of presentation at the end, right? like come up with a conversation in spanish and speak it without note cards?” he wonders aloud, looking from his notes to those of @cherrylgc who had sat beside him at the start of the lesson. it was basically acting, reciting, memorization — all things jino could do but doing it proficiently without butchering the accent might take him another few weeks. he could hardly roll his r’s!

when legacy told cherry to learn a new language, she wondered if they had forgotten who she is. cherry sucks total ass at studying, and how she knows both english, korean and japanese is a mystery. she’d stared out into the air, wondering if this was real or a nightmare, was she really forced to learn another language? her prior knowledge of spanish went as far as… shakira, mi casa su casa or something, right?

she’s studying with jino, who she kind of hopes is struggling as much as she is, just so she isn’t alone at sucking at this. “presentation at the end?” fear shows up in cherry’s eyes, “i don’t think i can do that? i mean… i can say como se llama and then… bonita… but would that be enough to pass?”.

"it is nice to be busy," minji declares. "it's part of why i decided i wanted to be an idol, since idols always have something to do. of course, i loved acting too, but considering i wanted to be a musical actress first and foremost, you usually have really long gaps between shows where you just have no work, and i felt like that'd be difficult to deal with." as much as she loves theatre, she's satisfied with doing it on the side, at least for now. "it does fly by so fast! hmm, let's see... what's the spiciest thing on their menu?" of course, minji goes for the spiciest thing. she scans down the list of chicken and lands on the classic spicy flavor. "this is what i'll try!" she says out loud, adding her order into the cart on the store's self-checkout system. "how about you, which flavor do you want?"

“yeah, i do quite enjoy being busy” she nods “now that i live alone… it can get a bit lonely to just stay at home by myself” she shrugs, “so i always try to stay busy, and if i have nothing on my schedule, i use the time on my friends or family” she smiles to the other. cherry should find a day though, to let it all out, rather than keeping herself so busy she can’t even think about it, she’s still heartbroken, the breakup hit her hard. “but musical actress, really? that’s cool, i don’t think i can do it” she shakes her head “i can’t really sing”.

everything was new to hyuk, ever since he got his chance to debut in a group. not that he wasn’t expecting things to change, and opportunities to show, but they still surprised him whenever he was called by the manager to be informed that he got a new job opportunity to represent mzsd. he was scheduled to be a guest on Kim Cherry’s channel, and hyuk was beyond excited about this event. he didn’t think he’d be put on some kind of variety show, considering his latest workshops about it, but it was perhaps a chance for him to show some growth and open another segment on his career, other than his expected idol skills. when it was given to him a cue for an introduction, hyuk didn’t waste any time, immediately greeting whoever was going to watch them in the future with a bright smile, “hello everyone! i’m so happy to be joining you! i am park hyukjae, but i’m sure you know me by mzsd’s hyuk! thank you so much cherry sunbaenin for having me here today, and i’m so excited about everything you have planned for me! please don’t hold back, i’m ready for everything!”

it was always exciting for cherry when she was joined by guests on her youtube channel, though she did wish she was allowed to have guests on her episodes more often. cherry often found herself starstruck about her guests, and even though hyuk hadn’t been an idol for particularly long, she was above excited to have a star like him on the show. “eh it’s almost unbelievable… the one and only hyuk on my show?” she smiles to hyuk before looking back at the camera.

by slinking in the shadows for most of the night, daeun has gathered quite a bit of information, despite some of it not being the most useful. she now knows that the lady in red loves her martinis extra dry, but also that the man with the golden pocket square has been cheating on his wife. this amongst other tidbits of information have made this excursion worthwhile. does she tell the wife of his infidelity in hopes to cause a scene? only time will tell, depending on how bored daeun gets by the end of the night. she sighs, sipping on her own cocktail leaning on the edge of the bar. her eyes are always glancing around, shifting this way and that way as she sizes her targets up in her mind. daeun hears someone speak to her and she turns to face them, locking on to the other girl’s face and trying to think whether or not she knows them from somewhere. “daeun,” she says simply. there’s no need for specifics so she doesn’t provide her last name. “there’s something special about these parties.” her eyes glance back over to the crowd. “or maybe, there’s just something special about the people.” daeun turns back to jahye, looking at her with a smile.

there’s something so… off about these parties, that jahye has never fully noticed before. usually she’s chasing after some rich man, picking her target before the party even properly begins, but today’s target not showing up, leaves her… alone, letting her eyes wander over everybody, rather than just one person, and she realizes, she’s not the only one here with secrets, is she? she’s never properly noticed it before, but the people that join these parties, they’re rather… odd? is that the right word?

she finds herself in small talk with someone she doesn’t even know anything about, much unlike jahye. she usually “studies” up on her target, it makes them easier to seduce, but now she’s left at a party with people she doesn’t really know, nor does she know how to seduce these people, well, if that’s what she wants to do tonight. “well, i’ve never noticed before, but we are… very randomly mixed yet very specifically picked” she shrugs “i’m not sure if that makes sense” she hums.

sanghyun was unsure whether learning languages this time around was in his favor considering that he wasn’t pressured to learn a new language and a skill at the same time. but since the language that was requested to learn for the audition was spanish, it left him regretting his childhood days when he would be surrounded by people who were fluent in the language. but alas, sanghyun was spending one of his days attending a spanish workshop with other people and while waiting for class to start, his mind contemplated between reviewing last class’s lessons or initiating a conversation with whoever was near him. as he flipped through the pages of his notebook, he noticed who was seated next to him. “hi. you’re cherry, right?” he asked as he tried to recall her name. it had been a while since he interacted with some of the actors despite being in the same subsidiary, but he had to remind himself that it was good to network and get to know others. there was a pause between his words as he wondered what to ask next. “did you do the homework assignment?” he asked a few seconds later, hoping to keep the conversation going.

cherry had finished university a while ago, and she had expected the torture called “studying” would’ve ended once she finished school, apparently not. 

cherry had never ever in her life been good at studying, and how she managed to usually pass her tests, is still a mystery no one knows. she’s not smart, she can admit that much, she has great other qualities, but she can very easily admit she’s closer to dumb than smart. and then here it came, legacy told her to study spanish, and suddenly she was taking spanish workshops. but this wasn’t the first time legacy had her learning a new language, once she joined she was told to work on her korean, sure, she did that, then they told her to learn japanese, she did that, now she was learning spanish, when would all of this end.

aeri was quickly learning that the current project would constantly test her improvisation and teamwork skills. with only a rough storyline and the rest left to the cast, she hoped that her previous experience working with the actresses would help. getting into character was easy for aeri, and in her elegant crimson dress, she quickly became kwon yerin — the plus one to a missing partner. yerin stood at the corner of the venue, scanning the crowd for her partner. her anxious expression was clear as she paced back and forth, doubting whether she had remembered the meeting spot correctly. “oh dear…” she muttered softly, then quickened her pace when she thought she heard his voice calling her name. but as she moved forward, she only spotted another woman, who appeared to be a guest at the party. “sorry to bother you, but did you happen to see a man pass by earlier? about this tall—” yerin gestured with her hands to show his height. “and he has short brown hair?” she described him further, carefully avoiding mentioning his name. yerin knew that there were a few attendees he wasn’t on good terms with, and she wanted to steer clear of them.

though cherry was excited for this, she couldn’t help, but be a bit nervous. so far, the roles she had played had been rather similar to herself, this role, “han jahye” was very different from real life cherry. but playing the role so far had been fun, and cherry was learning she was able to do more than just what was in her comfort zone. she likes how she looks, and it’s honestly a bit fun being someone who cares so much about their looks, it’s different from real life cherry. currently she stands with a hand mirror, fixing some of her hair while standing alone.
