I just deeply empathise with anyone trying to communicate in either normal or increasingly ridiculous ways with this traumatised teenager. Her district knows and loves her and refuses to clap as a form of protest when she volunteers, Peeta looks at her like she hung the stars in the sky, Madge spends every day by her side, Delly swears she's the coolest person she's ever met, Finnick is this close 🤏🏻 to doing cartwheels holding up a sign with glitter letters that says "LET'S KILL SNOW TOGETHER XOXO" and Johanna somehow manages to protect the two (2) very vulnerable allies she decided she wanted on her team inside a murder arena and her take-aways are, respectively: no one gives a shit about me but hey my district is sort of cool, wants to kill me, casual acquaintance, delusional, DEFINITELY wants to kill me, DEFINITELY DEFINITELY wants to kill me (but to be fair very badass about it).

Meanwhile the No. 1 Unreadable Person In The Room aka Haymitch Abernathy sort of scratches his left eyebrow and Katniss is like "got it, he evidently needs me to do three backflips towards the northwest. Duh". And everyone in the room is like 🫪🫪🫪 but then Haymitch goes "thank god ONE of you is paying attention"
