Like, when Damian first came to live in the manor, he trusted no one except Talia. And she would indulge him whenever she could. So when he moves to Gotham, he slowly but surely becomes touch starved.

After a couple of months, he breaks down because of it and homesickness.

Bruce finds it strange when Damian doesn’t come down to dinner, when he’s called. He goes to check on him, and finds him sobbing in his bed. And at this point, Damian has been acting just as he has in the comics so Bruce is flabbergasted. His first thought is that Damian is hurt, so he rushes over to examine him and find out what’s going on. But Damian just… collapses in his arms and hides his faces into Bruce’s chest, not caring about his image. Taken a back at first, Bruce slowly wraps his arms around Damian. Damian cries harder and Bruce squeezes tighter.

Eventually, Damian calms down enough to express how scared he is and how alone he feels.
