19/24: Cheren and Hikari go to Kalos so that he can do some research. They end up meeting Green, whom Hikari begins dating. Essentially, Green introduces Cheren and Siebold to each other so that he could spend more time with Hikari, but look what happened. They briefly hook up, but Cheren kind of freaks out because he just can’t do This, but they end on good terms. Cheren goes back to Unova in the spring, but before summer ends, he visits Siebold to settle something and they agree to stay friends.
20/25: Jiaheng moves in with Cheren, causes all hell to break loose while also helping his mother's friend's son (or ""cousin"") in a way he doesn’t expect. Lots of talks about Feelings with multiple friends ensue. On New Years, Cheren and Siebold start dating. HOOPA PLOT HAPPENS. Cheren loses Accel and gets him back, then with the help of Touya finds the Genesect Army. The Genesect Reservation Project is launched. Cheren attempts to help Hikari with Darkrai and ends up having to get her back. Meanwhile, Siebold confronts Malva, battles her and wins, but ends up beaten up and in the hospital during her escape. Cheren, Touya, and N end up in search of Lugia and getting the rest of the crew back from Hoopa World. It all ends when they both participate in a final plan to seal off Hoopa.
21/26: Cheren takes a year off from college, a decision he had a difficult time making. After some recuperation time with Siebold in Kalos, he returns to complete the Genesect Reservation Project and resume his duties as gym leader and trainer school teacher. Siebold continues his appearances on cooking shows, increasing his popularity as a celebrity chef. Eventually, he gets a new co-worker at the league, Serena.
22/27: Cheren receives his Bachelors in Pokeology and Bioengineering. Siebold gets a new boss at the Pokemon League!!!!!!!!!!!! Near the end of the year, Siebold starts putting his plans for opening his own restaurant into motion.
23/28: Cheren starts graduate school. Siebold’s restaurant is in the works.
24/29: Things start getting really Rocky. Cheren gets really busy with grad school, and Siebold’s restaurant is taking off. They have less time with each other, and the distance is starting to put strain on their relationship. The next time they see each other person, they decide to break up on mutual terms (but it still hurts). It allows them to focus on their dreams, though.
25/30: Cheren buys a condo in Vermillion (to make it easier to meet with Sird about the Genesect). Siebold meets his first love, Caterina Gaumont, again. They promised that if they met again and they weren’t seeing anyone, they would date again - so they follow through.
26/31: By this time, Jiaheng's acting career in Unova has taken off, and he is getting more opportunities. At one point, he ends up breaking up with Cheren's friend and former co-worker, Moria and moves back into his apartment. So... Weird stuff happens at one point, and then never talked about again.
27/32: Cheren receives his PhD in Bioengineering in Opelucid. Siebold finds out that Caterina is pregnant, and they’re pressured by her parents into getting married. Cheren ends up attending, to his surprise (Touya goes with him for support). Siebold and Caterina’s daughter, Marielle Louise, is born.
28/33: Cheren begins his post-doctoral research on man-made pokemon.
29/34: Cheren finishes his post-doctoral research, gets promoted from Trainer School teacher to supervisor, but keeps his job as gym leader. Meanwhile, Siebold and Caterina’s marriage begins deteriorating beyond repair.
30/35: Cheren becomes an assistant professor at a private university in Black City, where he meets Eleanor and Tobias. He begins having a physical relationship with Tobias, that eventually turns into something a little serious. Siebold wins a prestigious culinary award, which is pretty cool, but… Due to his neglect of family life for his work and her possible cheating, Caterina asks for a divorce. She gets full custody of Marielle.
31/36: Nothing significant still doesn't happen to either of them at this year I dunno why
32/37: Things are rather steady for Cheren, but he starts thinking about wanting a family. Tobias is not into that idea. Cheren walks out on Tobias because he does not want to settle down or have a kid. He ends up staying at Touya’s for a couple of weeks for support. Ends up having a seizure from a benign brain tumor, landing him in the hospital. Tobias tries to clear things up with Cheren, but just makes things worse. They never see each other after that. Siebold, however, finds out about what happened and flies all the way to Unova to see him. When Cheren returns back to work, Eleanor supports him and they become closer this year.
33/38: Cheren and Eleanor work on a joint research project all year, and eventually get their work published. Eleanor also happens to be having problems with her marriage, so they kind of have a complicated relationship. After they celebrate the publication, they finally talk about it, and agree that they should just be friends. They spend less time with each other - Cheren works on his personal life and addressing his hopes of becoming a father, and Eleanor fixes things with her husband.
34/39: Cheren and Siebold start getting to know each other again.
35/40: Emery is born! Siebold comes to visit again to meet the baby. They start seeing each other more often.
36/41: Cheren gets tenure as an associate professor, and leads a new research facility at the new Aspertia campus. He also starts dating Siebold again.
37/42: Cheren gets his first sabbatical, maybe? It’s only for a semester.
38/43: Siebold plans out his second restaurant, to open in Nimbasa.
39/44: Marielle begins her Pokemon journey. Siebold proposes to Cheren at the grand opening of his second restaurant.
40/45: Marielle finally challenges the Kalos League (mainly to kick her dad’s butt). After defeating them, she challenges Cheren to a gym match and wins. Cheren encourages her to challenge the rest of the Unova League, and to also talk to her dad. (She also meets Emery and that itself is a qt thing.) Some time in between summer and fall, Cheren and Siebold get married, and Siebold adopts Emery.
