the akagi epilogue is frankly gold from start to finish and is seriously one of my most favorite endings of all time possibly ever, but like this bit in particular is frankly one of the greatest things to come out of it. objectively speaking. like to review we've spent the past three hundred chapters establishing two very important things: 1) akagi is, frankly, very cool. hes always two steps ahead of everybody else he does not blink in the face of certain death he is favored by either god or satan and its not particularly clear which and hes completely bonkers unhinged insane the whole time and almost everybody around him is frankly terrified of the man and for good reason . and 2) akagi possesses what is truly an phenomenal innate grasp on the way the human mind works and not only that but also the ability to use that information to get people to do exactly what he wants and demonstrates this skill time and time again to pull off insane victories from the brink of complete desolation. and after 300 chapters of straight insane mahjong and truly incredible psychological warfare we are faced with the reality that despite all this he's so deeply socially inept that he cant order food at a restaurant or book train tickets or get a hotel room. to the point where osamu is like I need to save him
