oh john marston. you sack of shit. and yet i cannot help but imagine that sobbing, starving little boy with a noose around his neck, neck all rope-burned. he all but begged for arthur’s attention and for dutch’s approval. hosea never asked for much from him, he was just a boy, but little john marston had everything to prove. because what if they kick him to the curb? a loyal, rabid dog. a stupid mutt. never learned to love, never learned to be kind, just learned to be good the way dutch told it. to be good for dutch was to be good for others. that’s all he ever wanted- all he needed. what a fool.
