Tried hockey skates for the first time today and I have some thoughts that I have the urge to share
Been a figure skate truther my whole life and I can skate well so I thought I'd be ripping around and getting crazy w the hockey skates but the way I felt brand new.. newborn horse out there
I can see why people struggle to learn how to skate now bc the hockey skates had no ankle support snd were impossible to tie tightly?? Likely a skill issue on my part but it was rough </3 I always say that people should learn to skate w figure skates and now I extra believe it
Walking off the ice was like walking in shoes though it was pretty great
Stopping was fun as fuck and felt very theatrical, 10/10, my fav part for sure
Anyways in conclusion today I learned that different footwear is used for different activities. Felt like I wore climbing shoes to a marathon
