my personal hc is that bwems y/n is the One True Soulmate because its a "machine malfunction story". that once the skeletons were pulled to a diff universe, they became connected to bwems y/n. if ever they return to their universe and find their own version of y/n, it's gonna be different. either they have little connection or no connection at all, because the alternate universe y/n's have made different decisions than bwems y/n.

another part is that humans don't feel the connection as much as monsters do, that's why it's always the skeletons saying and pushing the soulmate thing, not y/n.

oh! i like this! yes, especially if its a soulmate AU. imagine spending years with the love of your life only for them to die & sans just spirals; the world is so bleak without them anymore, there's no reason to move forward, and then he remembered saying a promise- he'll find them wherever they go. and that reader is probably waiting for him to come get them.

i actually used to just scroll past bad & star sanses but i believe my first exposure is gloom & doom fic! i think we all know this fic haha. and then i just recently started watching animations & reading thru the lore i can find on here & it's not until i started writing that (literally a week ago) i just fell in love kmfkfkfkfm.

fun fact, i read a comment from before if the bad sanses were gonna appear on bwems WHICH i thought about but then discarded (because from my perspective, they'll ruin everything & possibly terrorize the other skells) so i didn't do that. which is why we have heal me!

i loved dust in gloom & doom but while im writing my own, this little prick stole my heart (subject to change while the fic progresses 😝)
