My love,
I want to write about you,
you are the first person to make me feel like I do not have to prove I am worthy of being loved.
That maybe unconditional love really does exist.
You can somehow convince me that you find beauty in me.
Even when I cannot see it myself.
But I’m terrified that will change.
That you’ll start seeing me how I see myself.
That you’ll slowly stop loving me like the light of a candle being burnt out.
That shutters will go up in the home I see in your eyes and I will be locked out.
I have wrote so many words for people before you.
And I didn’t know then that their love would have an expiration date.
That words could last longer than a person.
Longer than love.
That a clock somewhere ran out.
Out of time.
Out of love.
I understand the weight of words now.
I do not think I did before.
So when I say that I am in love with you.
It means I understand the damage that can be caused by not meaning those words.
It means that I mean them with my entire being.
