HOLY CRAP THIS IS THE MOIRA AT THE END OF THE LAST STAND

I really have to appreciate the irony of the very helmet Shaw/Schmitt had made to keep telepaths out of his head is then taken on by Magneto, the very child he tortured. Like, did I see a pattern between Shaw’s route to mutant domination and his route to mutant peace? Yeah, but I really didnt think he would come to emulate the monster that did all of that to him…

Also, when we were introduced to Hank, I literally said “why isn’t he blue?” That scene though with Raven, how he thought she was the key to changing the appearance of mutations, *sighs with a headshake* (that being said, it hurt me to see Hank say Raven was only beautiful when she didn’t embrace her mutation; like he’s complaining about not looking normal, good sir all you have to do is wear shoes. So much irony in him now having a very visible mutation, but anyways. Therefore, how dare you; ALSO, WHAT KINDA SCIENTIST ARE YOU THAT YOU DIDN’T TEST THIS SERUM BEFORE USING IT? HUH??)

Okay, knowing more about Darwin, he ABSOLUTELY could’ve survived that! Would it be a safe bet/prediction that he chose not to so he didn’t kill his friends? Yeah, probably; There’s a lot of selfless sacrifices in X-men, I’m genuinely so in awe of these guys.

I do like Erik being the one to tell Mystique to embrace her mutation fully; not only is it super inline with his character, but it also just reestablishes that Erik and Charles are each others’ foils. She spends her whole life hearing from Charles that she can’t let her mutation get out of hand, but all she hears from Erik is that it’s one to be envied, that she can’t truly be her most powerful without applying all focus. It’s pretty beautiful to me. It also makes sense to me now how we go from Mystique loving Charles to devoting herself to Magneto.

You mean to tell me Charles is partially paralyzed all because HE GOT UP AT THE WRONG TIME????? AND THEN HE BLAMES MOIRA???? Then right after we have Magneto’s brothers speech… what a quick turn around… OH MY GOD WHAT DO YOU MEAN CHARLES ENCOURAGED MYSTIQUE TO GO WITH MAGNETO???

Now for the sillies: you’re telling me the first time Erik and Charles meet, it’s Charles telling Erik “don’t be an idiot, you’re gonna drown.” LIKE SERIOUSLY? AND THEY BECAME BESTIES?? DAMN.

Their advice to Banshee to figure out how to fly, “scream as loud as you can” and all that came out is a GODDAMN SQUAWK.

I have questions too: can someone tell me who Azazeal is in the big scheme of things (cause ngl, heard the name, it isn’t connecting in my head)? He reminds me of Nightcrawler, that his dad or something? Also, is Havok supposed to be Cyclops’s dad older brother in the movies instead of his younger brother?

HE HAS A BROTHER??? OH GOD THE DEVIL IS BACK!!! Deadpool? Ladies and gentlemen, I’m very confused, when did Deadpool show up? WILL.I.AM???? THE HELL IS HAPPENING????

I understand this is meant to be the origins of my boy, but there’s a lot happening right now… What’s up with the bone claws? Am I in an alternate universe from the first three movies?

The brother is very disturbing, like really disturbing, like yeesh. Big yeesh, massive yeesh. (ITS COTTON WEARY FROM SCREAM OH MY GOSH, GUYS THIS IS CRAZY)

Logan’s partner seems so nice, like genuinely so lovely. She’s gonna die, isn’t she? OH SHIT THE BROTHER FOUND HER Guys this is sick, what the hell. Logan has been through enough.

Okay, so, huge bone claws are now metal claws, got it. Does he remember??

Total side note, they did a great job making Logan look younger in this movie.

So, does his mutation mean he and his brother age super slowly?? Cause the amount of wars they showed in the beginning of this movie have me questioning some (ie many) things.

OH MY GOSH THEY MURDERED THE COUPLE WHAT THE HELL!!! STRYKER YOU CONTINUE TO PROVE ME RIGHT IN CALLING YOU THE DEVIL.

Oop, Logan had his memories; this is the most I’ve heard him talk in one scene, what the hell? Fred and John make him yappy

Okay, so, new confusion. Why would Victor allow Stryker to do the adamantium stuff to Logan? Is he hoping that Logan will come back to him? I’m genuinely very confused cause, cause Logan is definitely way more dangerous now

GAMBIT, THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE FREAKING LEGEND! IVE NEVER SEEN HIM BEFORE AND BARELY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM IM SO EXCITED!!!!! Hmm, wasn’t expecting this… WOAH I WASNT EXPECTING THAT HOLY CRAP! Wait is he helping victor? What happened to “I’m not going back to that hell hole”?? Oh nevermind.

WAIT THIS IS WHAT DEADPOOLS ENTIRE PURPOSE WAS???? TO BE THE MUTANT KILLER??? WHAT THE FRICK WHAT DO YOU MEAN

OH MY GOD HIS PARTNER SHES WITH STRYKER NOOOOOO THIS IS SO EVIL WHAT THE FRICKING HELL this poor poor man, he’s really just been tortured in every way possible

Oh my god, Wade looks horrible, this is genuinely so evil. He doesn’t have a mouth cause he talked too much, but overall is just a robot taking orders. Side bar, for any Agents of Shield Fans, this is very reminiscent of Centipede/Deathlok and John Garrett/ The Clairvoyant. Just to me anyways.

Dang, look at Gambit coming in and saving his butt; I see why he’s got this hype. I like him.

Just Watched: X-Men: The Last Stand

Lemme start with a freak out, cause WHO THE HELL WAS GOING TO TELL ME KELSEY GRAMMER, AKA FRAISER, AKA THE PSYCHIATRIST I GREW UP WATCHING, WAS BEAST???? HUH??? WHO??? First Alan Cumming, then him. Damn.

I didn’t know “the phoenix” was Jean’s split personality, but ngl, a bit presumptuous to name itself that. With the whole, rise from the ashes, aspect, it feels like the name itself is this personality of Jean taunting X. This personality in general just gives me the heebee-jeebies (gotta love a classic to describe those indescribable feelings lol). Like she killed Scott (which how dare she, I love him) then that whole scene with Logan. Yeesh… it’s giving Nikki in Obsession; “kill me before I kill someone else,” then kicks Logan across the room.

Also, can anyone tell me if Jean had a wig for this movie? Cause there was something off with her hair, and I don’t know if it’s cause I haven’t seen her with long hair or something else…

I knew that Mystique sacrificed herself to save Magneto and, thus, was no longer a mutant, but watching the scene itself with all the context of the previous movies, I can’t help but empathize with her. She gave everything for him, he was literally her only family, but the status of Mutant was all that mattered at the end to make him abandon her.

I’ve seen Juggernaut in a ton of MCU cartoons, never understood his powers before, so thanks X-Men for explaining it. No wonder people are so scared of him.

This house scene is super interesting to me, Magneto screaming for Jean not to kill Xavier, Storm getting her butt handed to her by a speedster (who I genuinely believe she could’ve beaten), and also Jean lowkey looking like crap with phoenix in control. She genuinely looks sick but overall I think, as always, Magneto stole this scene; I think I have a bias guys…

More appreciation lol, “My single greatest regret is that he had to die for our dream to live,” THIS IS EXCELLENT WRITING FOLKS, THIS IS WHAT AN INCREDIBLE VILLAIN LOOKS LIKE, UGH GOSH FREAKING AMAZING. (It was always official but let’s not talk about it lol), but in all seriousness, I really do miss well written villains, cause is his end goal something that would help the minority in this universe? Yeah, 100%, but what makes it wrong is his tactic to gain said goal. You can’t hate him for his motivation, just his actions.

The irony of Warner saving his dad when the mutants are like “do we look like we need your help,” I bet that man is going to be feeling that for a while. But in all honesty, it really doesn’t seem like there are any good parents to these mutant kids. Rogue’s parents in the first, Stryker and Bobby’s parents in the second, then Warner and Jean’s parents. I literally turned to my dad and asked “would you react like that if I became a mutant?” Cause you can’t tell me there isn’t ONE SET OF PARENTS OUT THERE WHO WOULD LOVE THEIR TERRIFIED CHILD THROUGH THIS ENTIRE THING RATHER THAN TURNING ON THEM OR TRYING TO CHANGE THEM.

OH MY GOSH MAGNETO GOT HIT I REPEAT MAGNETO GOT HIT WHAT IN THE LEGITIMATE HELL I DIDNT EXPECT THAT, also why was Jean lowkey just standing there like a doll through this whole ordeal? Oh shit she pissed… Magneto’s “what have I done?” gotta love remorseful villains, granted it’s a bit late but I’ll give credit where it’s due, he was trying to help mutants (in a violent way). The last scene with the him in the park alone at a chess table, guys I’m sorry but layers. Gotta appreciate it.

WOW this was a TedTalk, sorry yall.

TLDR: OH MY GOSH KELSEY GRAMMER, thank you for the Phoenix explanation, she’s looking a bit sick ngl, Magneto is a fabulous villain goddamn, and someone give me proof that there are good parents to mutants out there. Somewhere, anywhere.

*sigh* this is a double whammy folks, cause not only was it at the top of my list since my sister is reading it, BUT NOW SHE WANTS TO SEE IT.

My respect for Magneto is SOOOOOO MUCH STRONGER AFTER THIS MOVIE OH MY LORD; another killer outfit, for one, but also the continuous respect he holds for Xavier and his X-men. The immediate “I’m sorry” when he talks to Xavier in his cell, how he and Mystique immediately decided to work together with Logan and the X-men, also his, in my opinion, remorse because he’s handed over Logan to the very man that tortured him.

Did he change everything to make X find all humans to serve his own purpose? Yeah, but he’s a villain! You gotta appreciate a good, multifaceted villain.

Wow, Ian McKellen, my hat is off to you sir.

Speaking of Stryker, I NEED THIS MAN TO GET HIT BY A CAR AND DROPPED IN A DITCH! Oh my god, his poor son, that poor boy. And him being behind what happened to Logan and Yuriko (a moment of silence for her), UGH AGAIN CAR AND DITCH, BURN HIM TO A CRISP! (Okay so I wrote this part before I saw him drown; I gotta say, his death wasn’t gruesome enough. I would’ve appreciated more pain)

Cause I’ve brought up Jason, the whole scene of Nightcrawler coming to after the White House attack and X going through Cerebro, it felt really similar to all of the aspects of Jean’s powers in Brand New Day. The most obvious of this being our blue boy not remembering what happened but also Jean “sitting down” with May and finding out Peter’s identity. The second scene with X, had a cool mirroring to how Jean kinda adopted May’s form to find out Peter’s identity versus Jason being a “little girl” in X’s head. With there being a 20+ year gap between these movies, as well as different writers, I won’t claim it was “obviously” the intention, but I really appreciate it, especially since X-men will clearly be playing a really big role in the future of the MCU.

Speaking of Jean, I’m beginning to realize she’s always been quite a, for lack of better words, dramatic character, huh? She always goes out with a bang (I don’t mean for that to be a pun), like the flood scene. Woah, what a growth in her powers. Does she come back? Imma find out in an hour.

Also this being our intro to nightcrawler gives me such an appreciation for him. My very limited understanding of his backstory meant that I was pretty much going in with no expectations and Alan Cumming (ALSO WTF DO YOU MEAN ALAN CUMMING WAS IN THE X-MEN I LOVE HIM) absolutely killed it! He’s such a little cutie guys, like what the heck!

So my introduction to Wolverine was through this kids cartoon called Super Hero Squad, a very not serious look at the avengers (tho lowkey wasn’t the avengers cause Wolverine and Silver Surfer were there) and other relevant MCU characters.

Why do I mention this, you may ask; CAUSE NO ONE TOLD ME HOW TRAUMATIZED WOLVERINE WAS!!!!!

Like, you’re telling me HIS CLAWS ARENT HIS MUTATION???? ITS REGENERATION????? All in all, massive respect and admiration for Logan. Very excited to continue the journey tomorrow.

Also, Ian McKellen as Magneto, WHAT A CASTING, he’s amazing!! Him and Patrick Stewart are amazing as Magneto and Professor X, the mutual respect for one another despite being on different sides for this Mutants issue, just wow. As far as portrayal by the actors goes, along with the writing, I cannot hate Magneto.

AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON HIS SUIT, JUST WOW. I thought he’d look dumb cause of the helmet, but the rest of the suit made me forget about the helmet’s… uniqueness.

I also really have to appreciate James Marsden cause I completely forgot this was the same dude that was in Hairspray, Enchanted, 27 dresses, I could keep going.

I mentioned I was planning to watch X-men cause of Sadie’s Jean Grey, but seeing him as Cyclops in the Doomsday trailer made me want to see him in the role itself. I’m super pumped, like even more pumped than I was previously!

I think what was especially so breathtaking to me was how Hulk looked. I remember being so goddamn terrified of the Hulk when I first watched Avengers as a kid (and I mean like a kid), and I just lowkey kept getting super let down by how the movies portrayed him after Ultron. BUT IN THIS, OH MY GOSH HE LOOKED AMAZING, I WAS NOT LET DOWN!!!!!

I always get worried about how they treat him after She-Hulk, but in this, it was amazing, Sony treated him so well.

Recipe I used:

1. 2 lbs of strawberries + 1 cup of water (blend until it’s smooth but some texture is a okay)

2. In a separate pitcher add the blended strawberries and: 1 can of evaporated milk, one can of condensed milk, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, and 3 cups of water (my tip: if you want to cut down on its sweetness, you can do 3/4ths of the can for the condensed milk; ALSO to get more of the strawberries from the blender, put the 3 cups of water in the blender and shake it around)
