I don't own Hetalia, and this is my first shot at posting an UsUk oneshot--

Scarce was his breathing as he held the blonde to his chest, tired ocean eyes glistening with tears caused by suppressed yawning. The stars were as vivid as a flame in the night, and a soft breeze gently took the loose leaves away from the trees. The cold couldn't find its way through the woods, but Alfred still felt the first signs of frost nip at his red cheeks and nose. He and Arthur shared a knit scarf, a wedding gift from Eduard and Natalya, which still faintly held the scent of the warm bedroom back at home.

Arthur was bundled up tightly in a thick blanket that he had insisted on bringing out tonight to their little cove, and Alfred didn't have the heart to stop him from taking it out when his precious husband sniffled once in the cold. They left no path behind themselves; two lovers in a quiet forest, and fireflies dancing on the edge of the small clearing. He could hear a trickle of water running over the pebbles that lead to a small brook nearby, but the frogs had long since went into hibernation. For a moment, all he could focus on was Arthur's soft breathing, and the warmth of his hand, which had slipped under Alfred's shirt before he fell asleep.

Alfred never was someone to stay so silent, but it seemed that all at once, everything gently became known to him. It was as though he was on the outside looking in, taking the place of one of the many fireflies that clung to the last warmth of the Autumn before it transitioned into Winter. They nearly blended into the dim glow of the night, and were to be unknown by the world until morning came again.
