Hello Cello

So I loosed everything and did it again. Adjusting the bridge a little as well. I think there is the bridge was a bit off. I will bring the cello to a luthier if things still don't work out.

I've done Essential Elements Book 1, and I'm now at Suzuki Book 3. But it really doesn't matter how far along I am with the books when I still have fundamental issues to solve.

I didn't see my teacher for almost 4 weeks. I didn't practise in the meantime (holidays... heheh). And since I wasn't ready with the homework piece, she decided to work on the fundamental problems with my left and right hands. Both "lack focus" - resulting in a kind of airy sound. I think she had let me get away with it for too long... I mean she always highlighted it but we didn't actually sit down and fix it properly.

Left hand - need that "C" more... play with fingers and joints rounded and not flat. I'm going to try shifting from the pads of my fingers towards the tip a bit more, but not too near the finger tips. Left arm should be lazy, lending weight to the fingers. All should be relaxed and fingers should not be pressing down, let the weight of the arm come down through the fingers. If playing with the 3rd finger, even if the 1st and 2nd fingers are there to support it, weight should be on the 3rd finger. My 3rd and 4th fingers are very weak.

Deal with intonation later. :P 

Right hand - Again, more weight on the bow. Focus the weight of the arm on the 1st finger.
