Celestial Tag is my OC story! I created it around 2024, but I didnāt really know what to do with it, so I shelved it. But now I actually have ideas for the story, so Iām dusting it off and putting it back on the table.
But for an actual summary, Celestial Tag is a fantasy story that takes place on the continent of Southport. In this world, the Sun has been missing for nearly two centuries, and everyone has pretty much given up on finding it. There was an attempt around the time the Sun vanished, but thatās a story for another time.
In the modern day, four heroes set out on a quest to find the missing Sun, and to bring back peace to Southport.
Iām not a very good writer, and my art could always use some improvement, but at the current moment Iām in the rough draft writing stages of an āofficialā comic. Iām not entirely sure itāll be a real thing, so for now, Iām going to post unorganized mini-comics of the story. (UPDATED 04/01/26)
While I doubt thereāll be much, Iām very open to fan content!
Iām also very open to OCās for the story, and extremely open to OCās for the Sun Searchers Army! No guidelines or anything! Have fun! (Keep in mind, if you make a Sun Searcher OC, theyāll be considered dead within canon, so I guess thatās a guidelineā¦)

So, Iām slightly hesitant to post this, but Iām gonna do it anyways because I feel like itās important.
This is an unfinished (in terms of setting description) draft for a comic I was gonna make, but eventually lost motivation to do so. I donāt want it to rot in my notes, so Iām posting it here. Itās canon to the story, it just never made it out of my rough-rough draft phase.
For additional context, this takes place a few days or so after these comics, so read those if youāre interested. This was written before my redesigns of both Moon and Sun!
Apologies in advance if this is an inconvenient read, itās just how I draft my comics!
[Setting: Pantheon Throne Room. Itās a circular room surrounded by Greco-Roman style columns. Banners of different patterns and colors hang down from the columns and spiral down them to the bottom of the columns, being pinned to them before they hit the floor. The floor is pure white and is cloud-textured. A circular table is in the middle of the room with an unlit fire pit built into it. Surrounding the table, and the inner outlines of the columns, are stone chairs. Two stone thrones with the carving of the sun and moon are seated where the head of the table would be. Moon stands at one side of the table, near the exit for the throne room. Sun is on the other side of the table in front of the thrones. She blocks her throne, and only Moons is shown.]
[The sky is getting darker, and blue-ish hues are being brought out in the sky. The stars are faintly seen in the sky.]
[Moon, on his side of the table, looks frustrated. One half of his face presents this emotion, the other side of his face, which is pitch black, shows an eerie smile illuminated in a white outline. This is his crescent moon phase.
Sun, on her side of the table, also looks frustrated, but also very exhausted. It looks as if theyāve both have had a version of this conversation before.]
Moon, frustrated: Are you insane? Do you know what youāre playing with here? Do you understand the implications of what youāre trying to do?
Sun, also frustrated: I donāt see why it concerns you, I really donāt. Itās not like theyāre bound to stay together any longer anyways. I asked The Prophet, and she saidā
Moon: It doesnāt matter what The Prophet said! How do you know you arenāt interpreting her words wrong? Orāor that youāre twisting them to fit your inane narrative? SunāSun you have to understand that you canāt do thisā
Sun: And why canāt I? Others have done it beforeā
Moon: others arenāt the leader of the Pantheonā
Sun: And so what? Why does that matter? Honestly, Moon! What is this really about, hm? Because Iām starting to think that itās not me youāre really mad at.
Moon: Sunā
Sun: No, no. You know what I think? I think you wouldnāt have been happy with anyone I chose. Mortal or not! Married or not! You wouldāve hated all of them! And you know why? Because they arenāt you.
[Theres a brief silence. Suddenly Moon gets very flustered. His face flushes red, and starts to stammer. Suns hit a nerve, and sheās not wrong.]
Moon: thatāsāthatās notāwe are not discussing this right now.
Sun: Oh yes we are. Itās true and you know it! Youāre just mad that I didnāt choose you!
Moon: NoāI meanāitās complicated, okay?
Sun: Oh really? Why is it that complicated relationships are allowed with you, but not me? Why am I not spared the judgment?
Moon: because Iām not chasing after a married manā
Sun, with sudden vindictiveness: Well at least Iām chasing after someone who actually loves me.
[A really long silence stretches over the both of them. Suns facial expression of tired frustration does not change. She does not regret what sheās just said. Moon becomes very shocked and heavily stressed. He slowly steps back in disbelief.]
Moon, voice rising: Thatās not fair. You know thatās not fair.
Sun: Well, it isnāt my fault you havenāt gotten over something that was two millennium ago.
Moon: Iā¦I have to go.
[Moon leaves the Pantheon Throne Room. During the argument, the sky has gotten darker. When Moon fully exits the throne room, swirls of mist surround him, and suddenly he vanishes.]
[Akros is the God of the four winds, and sheās looking for Sun. The sky is completely dark. A shot of the moon shows that it is close to the horizon line, but not close enough to signify a transition to dawn. It would be around 4-5 AM in the morning logistically. Akros approaches the Pantheon throne room, and looks inside.]
Akros: Sun? Suuun! Can you come out here real quick? Melnoias canopy fell over and we were wonderingāack!
[A large pillar falls over as Akros touches it. A banner representing the Sun slowly falls over as dust swirls around the room. Akros quickly recovers.]
Akros: Sun? Uhm, Sunni? Are you there? Sun
[The Pantheon throne room looks disheveled. Suns throne has supposed scratches and chunks taken out of it. The built in fire pit, which rested as a bowl, is turned out with ashes spilt all over the floor.]
[Then, Ewvyen, the God of Fire and the Hearth, runs up. She is a literal flame. She looks slightly rushed and impatient.]
Ewvyen: Akros! Akros! Whereās Sun? Melnoias canopy is still broken, and now Renaias Tavern is starting to fall apart andāis everything okay?
Akros: Ewvyen, I need you to get everyone. Everyone inside and outside the Pantheon.
Ewvyen: But Akrosā¦half of the Gods are out right now andā
Akros: I donāt care. I need them all here, now.
Ewvyen: Akrosā¦whatās going on..
Akros: just get going!
[Akros looks at the sky and sees that the moon is still in its 4-5 am section. Despite the fact that she was in the Pantheon Throne Room for a while, nothings changed. She looks perturbed.]
[Conala is the God of the stars. They created the stars and constellations, but they have no movement control over them. The story goes that a mortal was so sad by the lack of beauty in the night, that they created the stars as a gift for Moon. After the mortals death, Moon granted them the gift of godhood and immortality. Moon controls their movements, but Conala can and will create new stars and patterns in the sky at their own discretion.]
[Conala appears directly behind Akros without a sound.]
Conala: the stars. Theyāve stoped moving.
Akros: and you canātā¦?
Conala: I place the stars, not move them. Theyāve gone still. I can feel it. And if the stars have gone stillā¦
Akros: That means that this situation is far worse than i thought it was.
[new scene Iām to lazy to write out the description]
Dodie: Are you sure?
Jonathan: Mmhm. The clock says nine. Itās not broken.
Dodie: But it can beāare you sure Tom didnāt move it last night?
Jonathan: Tom was in bed by eight last night, and you know he doesnāt like to leave his room until the Good Celestial Sun graces us.
Iām going to go check on the coop and the crops. We need to see what we can do if this keeps up.
[jonathan walks outside]
Jonathan: uhmā¦honey? Can you come here real quick?
Dodie: What is it? Oh. Uhm. Hm.
Jonathan: What should we do?
Dodie: You go talk to him.
Jonathan: Woahāwoahāhold on! Why me? Youāre the one with the nocturnalā
Dodie: Yeah, and sheās out right now, so you talk to him.
Jonathan: Goodā¦good dayā¦? Good eveningā¦? Uhā¦Hello, Lord Moon. What brings you here?
Moon: whuh? whoā¦.who are you?
Jonathan: I amāuhāthis is my wifeās land. Iām the one who tends to it.
[awkward silence. Moon is looking at him but not really]
Is everything okay, Lord Moon? Uhmāexcuse me for speaking in such a lax manner, but have you and Lady Sun had some sort of spat?
Moon (he locks in): what are you talking about?
Jonathan: Itās justā¦itās nine in the morning and theā
Moon: itās what?
Jonathan: Itāsāitās nine in the morning, but theāyouāyouāre stillā
Moon: Iām still here.
Jonathan: Lord Moon
[jonathan turns to look at Dodie and then looks back. Moon is gone]
[new scene]
Moon: Do you understand whatās at stake?
[dish and silver look at each other and back at moon. Dish is slightly more distressed because is sorta-mom just got allegedly killed]
Dish: We very well do. But how can you be sure sheās not just lost in the Pantheon?
Moon: I asked Akros through the winds. She said no one could find her.
Silver: So it has come to this. And you are sure she was harmed?
Moon: She wouldnāt be able to leave otherwise.
Silver: Do you know what her Inanimate is?
Moon: No one does. Itās against the Order to tell what your Inanimate is. Itās for protection.
Dish: So we either wait for her to recoverā¦or, as you suggest, we look for her.
Moon: Itās a gamble, but you have to understand. Southport needs Sun. They can survive without her celestial from for a few thousand years, but the world will get colder, and so will their minds. I donāt care what its takes, but we need to find her.
Dish: Moon, you need not to worry. Me and Silver will help you, I promise. Just give us a few weeks, and weāll have a plan.
Silver: Mhm. In the meantime, I suggest you go to Solar City. There is someone there that I believe will be of great help assisting the people in adjusting.
[The text filters into a new scene. Alley and Melody are both on a balcony of City Hall in Solar City. Alley is looking through a telescope while Melody is reading out a letter. In the next panel, Melody and Alley look at each other with concern]
Celestial Tag baseball AU where instead of an army the sun searchers were a famous baseball team that was trying to find their missing manger (Sun) through winning tons of games, but they lost the big one so they all quit in shame. Now Moons starting a new team in hopes of finding Sun again through his teams impressive skills. Iāll do nothing with this
What if I made you carry out a burden that you couldnāt complete before, leading you to feel overwhelming joy, anger, and sadness. And then what if I switched all those emotions around on you. What if I did this without your permission, so you couldnāt rest with your comrades, waiting for the mission to be completed. What if I did this to spite someone.
But why would I? Arenāt I supposed to be the one who needs saving?
The goddess looked down upon me, holding me in her arms. Her gaze was ever loving, just as she looked the day we lost her. Had we done it? Had we saved Lady Sun? I shivered. She was not the warm Sun I had remembered. Her body was cold to the touch.
Or was that me?
Those kind eyes looked at me like I was her greatest creation, her greatest solider, her greatest love. She held out her hand, and produced a piece of a broken gem from her palm. She gently pressed her hand into my stomach, and a warmth washed over me, giving me life I didnāt know I had. I tried to grasp her hand in mine, but I couldnāt move my arms to meet hers.
Why couldnāt I move my arms?
She moved her head close to mine, and whispered in my ear
āMy blessed beloved three
I bestow to thee
These pieces sworn to me
Protect them as your own
With power they are sewn
For you to have and hone
For my second, hold it fast and sturdyā
She then moved her head away, and smiled at me. Her hand moved from my stomach, and suddenly, that gem piece was lodged in there. Stuck, like it had always been apart of me. I couldnāt help it. I started to cry. I didnāt want thisāthis burden! I just wanted to go back to my children! My husband! My friendsāwait!
Where was Melody?
Where was Jasper?
Where was Commander?
Commander.
COMMANDER!
Well, thatās funny. I canāt seemā¦I canāt seemā¦I canāt seem to recallā¦how pathetic.
How pathetic this all is. We wouldnāt be in this situation if it wasnāt for them, would we? No. They had just had to play to their ego. They just had to play god.
Well, Iāll do what Iāve been asked. Iāll protect this gem with whatever energy I have left. I wonāt let anyone hurt her. Not again. Not ever. Iāll do what I have to do.

how about you donāt point the sword of my past at me
(bonus dialogue[written in a way that is easy for me])
[Rhapsody and Moon sit around a recently lit fire. The clearing is empty except for them. Moon leans up against a tree, staring at Rhapsody with intent. Rhapsody sits back up on the balls of her feet. Staring into the fire, she speaks]
Rhapsody: It was stolen, by the way.
[Moon jolts up. He speaks in a calm, collected manner, but his face gives him away.]
Moon: What do you mean?
Rhapsody: The sword. It was stolen. I nicked it from a shop about a century ago. Thought it would look nice on my wall, Yknow?
[She looks up at him with apologetic eyes]
Rhapsody: You looked pretty shaken when you saw it, and not just because it was aimed at your chest, hah. I justā¦wanted you to know that itās not really mine. Do youā¦do you want it back? Iām running under the assumption that itās yours, yeah?
[The hope slowly drains from Moons face. It looks like heās aged years during this conversation. He slowly replies]
Moon: No itās not mine. You can keep it. I just thoughtā¦it looked familiar, thatās all.
Rhapsody: You sure?
Moon: Yeahā¦Iām sure. Itās fine.
[Rhapsody looks at him. She can tell heās hiding something, but she doesnāt press. As she turns her gaze back to the fire, Moon slowly walks away, and sits down where the firelight canāt reach]
nothingā¦.nothing is stopping me from writing my story in this format. Would it look good? No. Would it be easy for me to do? Yes. hmmā¦I must think on this matter.

This would be a witty comic where Iād tell you that Moon can summon physical weapons through the moonlight, and where Iād also tell you that he carries around Commanders spear in guilt, but I donāt wanna do that right now.
