Merry Christmas and happy birthday to Levi in my Professor Layton au! As I mentioned in a previous post, Levi was engaged to Petra but she was killed several years ago. Now that’s he’s had Eren living with him as his “apprentice,” this is the first time he’s had someone celebrate his birthday since her death. 

He’ll always love Petra, nobody in the world could ever replace her, but Eren is precious beyond words to him. It’s moments like this that take him by surprise; he’d forgotten how it felt to be loved after he lost Petra, but now he has Eren here in his life and the boy has somehow wormed his way into Levi’s heart, and he couldn’t ask for anything more.

The sound of feet pounding the stone floor in one of the castle’s many long corridors is echoing off the walls. Many people pass through these halls at all hours of the day and night, their footsteps creating a similar effect, but this… this is different. These echoes carry a sense of foreboding, a warning, an omen preceding an oncoming storm.

All Levi wanted to do was to go home and get some sleep - not to have Hanji and the rest of the gang drag him to see the new gigantic aquariums that have been built in Trost after work. And he certainly didn’t want to get separated from the group; how on earth was he supposed to find his way out?

Well, Levi thought, at least I could get some peace and quiet.

But while Levi expected to see sting rays and maybe a couple of sharks, he certainly didn’t expect to see a gigantic, exotic (gorgeous) fish looking at him from one of the aquariums. 

Levi wanted to laugh because the kid’s tail actually shifted color like his eyes. Like how the fucking fuck does it even do that.

Levi usually can’t stand raw fish but, for some reason, he absolutely wants to devour this one.
