"--Okay. I think I can finally go back outside now."
Her Christmas gift nearly crushed her. Just an album of her family and friends, was enough to make her lock herself in her room. A pull of the door, and she stepped outside to see a strange sight before her. Her jaw hung as she mouthed words that never came out.
"W-What's going on this time?!?"
"Thanks. You run into anything weird yet, kid?"
"Yeah. I've seen plenty of weird things here. Have you ever seen a sentient robot before?"
A blue sweater, with a repeating pattern of lavender stars and white snowflakes. A little oversized, but still good. On top of the gift is a white card, with only a lavender-colored star embossed on its surface.
After her fiasco inside of her apartment, she found another gift that was sent to her home. A cute little sweater, majorly blue with a hint of lavender. She slipped it on, mainly because it seemed more comfortable than the other sweaters. It went a little too far past the hips, but she liked it. It had a familiar feeling to it, something dark, but still warm. She had a feeling she ‘knew’ who sent this, and she was grateful. This Christmas was something she’d never forget.
In the end-- Sarah didn't believe that Santa would actually deliver any presents. Santa wasn't real back home. Just a fictional character made by her parents when she was a little girl. But just like the magic her father would tell her about during Christmas time, a festive tree and bundles of gifts managed to sneak their way into her apartment.
She didn't know what to say at first, her expression in shock. She approached the neatly wrapped presents, and carefully unwrapped one. Sweaters, Books, Gum, just a few things she ask'd Santa this year. She didn't expect to /actually/ get a laptop, but it felt great, to see something so expensive alongside her gifts. Her father always was busy with bills that he never got a chance to buy many expensive items, so obtaining this laptop-- it was something foreign.
Last, but certainty not least, a humble Photo Album, with a letter resting ontop of it. She placed the letter to the side, and poked into the binder. She gasped.
Her father-- Her mother, she felt her heart stop. Her friends-- Clementine--, all pictures of them. Signatures and supportive comments in their own handwriting.
Her glasses fogged up, audible gasps emitted from the back of her throat, as lines of salty liquid streamed down her cheeks. She held the album close to her chest, as she tried to blink out the tears, but she couldn't. For a while, she just cried. It was the first time in a long time she's ever cried tears of joy.
Finally, her tears ended after what felt like years. She neglected the letter sent by Old Saint Nick himself. She tore open the letter, her eyes still puffy from the tears. Maybe it was best to read from Santa Claus himself.

"See, that green one calls people, and that other green one with the bubble texts people."
She preforms exactly what she instructed, unlocking the phone for the creature. And to think she thought he was going to bite her face off.

"If either of you get tired, I would have no problem carrying you both. There is no telling where we are, and considering the many paths around us, I do believe we will be walking for quite some time." This had better not be a maze, he thought to himself. They were less puzzles and moreso tedium, he felt. Of course this would be a maze, he realized as he rubbed at his face with a massive hand. The scientists would have one somewhere.
The Nightmare Knight shook his head, hoping to clear his thoughts. Something about his head felt crowded, like he had been thinking too hard and for too long. This was all very strange, but nothing for him to worry about. The city had done stranger things to him, and stranger still was yet to follow. He gripped his cape, and just barely, it began to glow a number of dark, cool colors. “I am afraid there is little I can do to provide illumination, but I can at least promise protection against whatever may be in here. I shall follow you both through whichever path you choose.”
There was sure to be something in this maze. Neither of the people with him seemed the best choices for combat, but his size alone was certain to be helpful against whatever may be. For now, he would simply follow, perhaps take a moment to clear his head. Just what was going on? This feeling had better go away soon.

Sarah tried to search her pack for a flashlight or something, but no dice. Unless this other man would have something to use, they'd have to go blind in the dark. She adjusted her glasses for a moment, before deciding to bring something up.
"Well-- If we run into trouble, I think I can actually help! --I think."
She pulls out her firearm from said backpack. It felt weird to hold one again.
"The problem is-- I've never shot one of these before."
Still, a gun is a gun, and as long as she doesn't point it where she shouldn't, she should be okay. All she would need to be is backup, since Nightmare Knight might end up doing most of the fighting. She turned to Steve.
"What about you? Do you have anything that might help us out?"
