The boys say “you’re too independent”

Like I don’t need them

Like I’m content being single

They say it’s a bad thing

Like I’m emotionally unavailable

Which was intentional because they didn’t deserve me

Baffled

In relationships, partners rely on each other, love each other, share stories, joy, humor, sadness, anger, grief, depend on each other

And have our independent thoughts, ideas, struggles, friendships, hobbies

That’s the beauty of it

I will always love life

Until I find a partner who shares the same love

Who can lead and inspire

Who loves me for my attributes
