There's an awful trend in reading that's this CinemaSins kind of rejection of abstract concepts and suspension of disbelief, that makes people say it's bad writing when authors use descriptions that aren't immediately one to one with physical reality.
Like it's bad when a "tattoo is undulating" (as opposed to... "drawn in a wave like pattern on the skin"?), or when hair is "wet wheat from a late Summer field" (as opposed to "sort of brownish light yellow that dries lighter, but is not actual wheat stalks growing on someone's head but kind of reminiscent of the color and texture"?), or when when ice cream tastes like midnight at the fair" (as opposed to "ice cream flavour bringing back memories of undefined ice cream flavours that are individually popular but always tied to a memory of late evening at the fair ground and probably smelling vaguely like popcorn and sugar"?).
Please. We have to get back to understanding abstract descriptions that evoke feelings and memories and mental images or things we haven't experienced yet. This hyper utilitarian way of reading and judging text is killing fiction. it's robbing you of experiencing things you haven't actually personally experienced.

sometimes people on here talk about "accountability" in a way that shows they think that the person they've decided is in the wrong can't actually do anything to redeem themselves other than like. suicide.

Feminist criticism of men's behavior comes from the idea that gender is a social construct, that men are not inherently evil and their behavior can change. If men couldn't change, the criticism would be pointless.
It is not necessary for every feminist statement to include a 'not all men do this' disclaimer. The criticism itself already expresses the possibility that men could choose not to behave in this way.
Unless someone states that men's behavior can't change or that there is inherent evil in being a man, accusing a feminist of 'manhating' because she criticizes men is usually nothing but an attempt to distract from the content of the criticism itself.
We should recognize such an obvious attempt at derailment for what it is and move on.

I had never heard of this character before, but it really was published over a hundred years ago. Hereâs a comics blog talking about her, and a couple more gems:
It's hard to believe that this blog has been running over a dozen years now, and I am just now getting around to mak
Agate from pokemon horizons!
I was interested in her the moment she appeared on screen. Her design is peak and the combination of her demeanor and clothing style gave her a mysterious aura that fits perfectly with her character. Her clothing style appears to be inspired in some sort of native tribe/ancient civilization motif or at least that's what it looks like to me. They gave her a Medicham and a Xatu, which imo, adds more to that motif. I'm also intrigued to know where she comes from (region and hometown), which I suspect is a location exclusive to the anime.
I love that despite all the shenanigans, she has a noble goal at heart, which makes me think that she will eventually drop the explorers. It's only a matter of time before her conscience fully kicks in. Hamber did a great job at confronting her, she was trying hard to ignore his words because deep down she knows she crossed a line for her cause. I love when we get antagonists that are more nuanced in their motivations.

how does it feel to be the funniest person on earth
For the last time. A bear is a FAT hairy man. FAT. FAT. Say it with me because it's not a bad word. Bears are fat men. Stop showing me dehydrated and muscular hairy white men. That is not a bear. That is some generic white guy I don't want to look at. Give me real bears or give me death.
The Goddess of Time is only ever referred to after the events of Ocarina of Time, leaving the possibility open that she's Zelda from the adult timeline.
TRENTON â Today, Governor Mikie Sherrill took action to protect New Jerseyansâ safety and Constitutional rights as the Trump administrationâ
Executive Order No. 12Â to protect against ICE raids on state property, a resident reporting portal, and information for New Jerseyans to know their rights. Â
Online Detainee Locator System - https://locator.ice.gov/odls/#/search
âI take seriously my responsibility to keep New Jersey residents safe and, as a Navy veteran and former federal prosecutor, my commitment to upholding the Constitution will never waver. This executive order will prohibit ICE from using state property to launch operations. To strengthen public safety, we will also give New Jersey residents the tools to report ICE activity to the Attorney Generalâs office and ensure residents know their Constitutional rights. Today, we are making clear that the Trump administrationâs lawless actions will not go unchecked in New Jersey. Given ICEâs willingness to flout the Constitution and violently endanger communities â detaining children, arresting citizens, and even killing several innocent civilians â I will stand up for New Jerseyans right to be safe,â said Governor Mikie Sherrill.Â
âIt is essential that federal agents who conduct immigration enforcement operations in New Jersey follow the Constitution, as well as federal and state laws. When federal immigration officers violate the law and sow fear in our communities, they undermine public trust in law enforcement and make it harder for us to keep the public safe. We encourage the public to share photos and videos through our new online portal.  We will ensure the safety of our communities and hold the federal government accountable when they violate the law,â said Acting Attorney General Jennifer Davenport. Â
âAt a time when the Trump administration continues to undermine Constitutional protections and spread fear in immigrant communities, the Sherrill Administration is committed to standing on the side of facts, fairness, and human dignity. The Office of New Americansâ Know Your Rights and legal services information help ensure that residents have accurate, helpful guidance and legal representation for their day in court, no matter where they were born and what language they speak. The Know Your Rights information is available in 22 languages and are downloadable to print out or post online. In New Jersey, we will not allow misinformation or intimidation to deny people the rights and resources they are entitled to under the law,â said Human Services Acting Commissioner Stephen Cha. Â
