I got the idea a few months back to reread the entirety of WoF and rank them all after my last full (and first) blast-through of the main series in… 2020. I must say, I find these books astonishingly good in spite of their target audience of 5th graders who hiss like feral cats at the mean kids in PE (no shade to them at all, I was one of them)

likely has something similar with RainWing venom stopping when venom of a relative hits it

smth smth venom is probably throughout their body and their powers are from if their body decides to create an avenue to use it like tail stingers. it explains why it can be in teeth and claws

whether beetlewings are convergent or related, it seems like a general rule for dragon venom.

the point is that if you ever wanted a venom immune dragon like blood red mudwing eggs, hivewings are the most likely tribe to have it. it also makes venomscales possible are venomous sweet which could be from a hivewing born with too much if the venom is throughout their body

not going into biology with this one they literally have six limbs and can fly without the appropriately sized wings, also can use magic, don't care. then again I did think venomscales was impossible until now.

If you're not allowed to answer, my backup question is do you think it's easier or harder to write Wings of Fire than Star Trek, and do you think writing you did for previous shows is helping you for shows you're currently working on?

As for the writing process itself, all my past experiences in storytelling certainly contribute to my approaches to future projects. I’ve written or co-written well over a hundred episodes of television — it might be closer to two hundred now! — so the rhythms of character and plot and emotional arcs eventually get tattooed on your brain, by sheer exercise.

As for writing on Star Trek versus Wings of Fire, they are similar in a lot of ways — balancing personal journeys set against a backdrop of wonderfully rich worldbuilding and lore. The biggest difference is, of course, inventing original stories in the world of Trek versus the art of adaptation of an existing tale with the novels.

The skills overlap, especially in finding where one might expand or simplify while staying faithful to the material, but they do involve different approaches!
