his eyes are bright, yet sharp and intimidating. his nose is sloped just right, and his lips are small but plump, with a permanent light rosy tint to them. honestly, you wish raiden ei had done a quicker and sloppier job, maybe then he wouldn't be turning so many heads on the regular. you think you should offer putting a paper bag over his head one of these days, maybe that would keep the terribly possessive part of you at bay.

and when your jealousy starts to get the better of you on this day, a petty idea strikes you. swiftly, you creep towards your shared bedroom and pick out a light pink lip gloss from your vanity. when its time to bid him goodbye for another one of his missions, assigned by the dendro archon herself, he doesn't suspect anything. in fact, a kiss goodbye from you is expected. if you were to skip it he'd insist, standing still at the doorframe staring right into your eyes with a quizzical look and a hint of disappointment, almost looking like a sad wet cat.

once you've planted a kiss on his pale cheek, you're only graced with the littlest of time to admire your work. it's not too bright to look ridiculous, but it's also not too faint to go unnoticed. a job well done indeed. so when you close the door behind him, you can't help but let a little laugh slip. you'll get a bit of a scolding once he's back, but the mark of your lips on his cheek, the clearest sign that he's taken aimed at anyone that looks his way, is worth it.

he has a short temper and he's very strict. just because you're his partner doesn't mean he'll go easy on you, no, it would be quite the opposite actually. he couldn't care less about the well being of his subordinates or peers, if they want to subject themselves to one of the more dangerous missions assigned by pierro they can go right ahead. but you? just going for a walk for some fresh air at night is forbidden. and no you may not leave the house during snowfall at any time of day, what would happen if you were to slip or catch a cold and fall sick? anything you need done that he deems even remotely risky, he'll get it done for you in your stead. and there is no need to worry about him, he can handle himself perfectly fine. much better than a human could.

don't you understand this is only coming from a place of love? maybe if you two lived in a different nation, if he didn't have this job and you could live peacefully the way he used to, maybe then he wouldn't have to be such a worry wart. but this is not the life you live, and you chose this. you agreed to this the moment you accepted him into your heart. he's overbearing, a broken man who has lost time and time again, and he will do anything to keep you around for as long as possible. even if it means being stupidly strict over small things you might think are insignificant. even if it means handing you over to dottore to lengthen your lifespan.

the way he behaves within the comfort of your home as opposed to anywhere else is like night and day. here he doesn't have to keep his eyes peeled for any sign of danger, he can simply sit in your comforting presence, do mundane things and bask in the domesticity of it all after work. there is nothing to worry about when there are guards stationed outside the house, and most important of all he's right there with you. nobody is capable of keeping you safer than himself.

he can be so, so impatient and even more emotional. all it takes is your addictive smile and a warm welcome home hug after a particularly long day of work and his feelings start to spill over so quickly at the reminder that he's so fortunate to have somebody to come back home to.

someone who loves and accepts him even with all his flaws, who has stuck by him through thick and thin. his person, who does so much for him every day, because you love him. him. of all people, you love him. and he gets so emotional over the fact.

he wants to feel all of you, grabbing every inch of your body he can get his hands on and holding on so tightly, as if you're moments away from disappearing. he gets so overwhelmed that he forgets he's the only one who doesn't need to breathe, and you're left pushing his face away despite his attempt at chasing your lips just to catch your breath because my god is he relentless.

now you're suddenly pressed against the wall, forehead to forehead panting in your living room. his silent apology at the realization that he once again got too carried away is to just stare in silence. admire the way your eyebrows crease and your eyes are half lidded, mesmerized by the way he manages to get your chest to rise up and down at such a fast pace that he almost wants to mimic it.
