⟣ Atoll Fruit Doves are a tropical species threatened by habitat loss and predation from rat colonies that inhabit it's islands. It is the only tropical pacific Dove species that is exclusive to low coral atolls.

✧ Feeding ✧

⟣ Atoll Fruit Doves feed on seeds, insects and tree leaves. They often forage for seeds and insects on the ground, or among tree branches and roots. They also eat the leaves of the Guettarda speciosa (often referred to as the tafano or kahaia) shrub which is best known for its fragrant flowers and large green veined leaves.

⟣ The Atoll Fruit Dove grows up yo 24 centimeters tall, and can reach 100 grams in weight.

⟣ Atoll Fruit Doves inhabit islands and low atolls in the Tuamotu archipelago in French Polynesia. It lives in tropical and subtropical forests, and abandoned coconut plantations.

⟣ The Black-Throated Wren is a species of wren with a distinct dark throat patch. It often calls with a series of whistles and trills to other birds.

⟣ Not much is know about it's specific diet but it is noted to forage near the ground and presumed it preys on insects, spiders and possibly worms.

⟣ Black-Throated Wren's are around 15 centimeters long, and range from 22 to 27 grams.

⟣ Black -Throated Wrens inhabit dense forests that are close to bodies of water. They are found all through Nicaragua to Honduras, and parts of Costa Rica and Panama.

⟣ Parakeet Auklets are a type of seabird, and were formerly in their own genus, Cyclorrhynchus, but were found to be more phylogenetically similar to other auklets in the genus Aethia. They hunt by diving into the ocean, up to 30 meters under the surface.

⟣ Parakeet Auklets dive under the ocean surface to eat an array of small crustaceans, jellyfish, and small fish.

✧ Size & Features ✧

⟣ Parakeet Auklets are fairly short, reaching an average of 23 centimeters tall, and weight around 300 grams. They have black and white plumage with a long white stripe from the corner of their eye, fading down their neck. They have a bright orange, upturned beak.

✧ Inhabited Region ✧

⟣ Parakeet Auklets inhabit the northern pacific region, near Alaska and Siberia in boreal waters. They breed on offshore islands.
