Since FNAF's been blowing up lately, I just realized my hyperfixation on the game series turned 10 this year
Never been interested in the lore, hasn't intrigued me once.(Nontheless, it's nice to see a game made by a guy who was previously hated by the internet get so much love, Very well deserved.)
When it comes to my hyperfixation on the game, I've always had the tendency to solely focus on the character designs. The artstyle, alongside the colour palettes used for em all scratch my brain :PPP
When I was a young lad in the mid 2010s, I never knew it was possible to make characters that look the way the animatronics do. So alongside LBP1 it quickly inspired me to try and create my own characters, and expand my imagination.
I recall my favourite characters being Freddy, Funtime Freddy+Bon bon, and Lolbit
I also briefly hyperfixated on security breach when it came out but only for Sundrop and Moondrop

Saffron Crew: “Jet” Erebos
Jet and his older brother grew up relatively poor on Val’Shai. Despite this, both of them quickly proved to be geniuses in engineering and physics, respectively, which gave them an avenue to pave a better life. They worked together for years, taking various jobs to make ends meet and establish a reputation for themselves.
Eventually they met Jayesh between jobs. They quickly became friends, and soon decided that bounty hunting would be a more productive career than occasional engineering and mechanic jobs.
However, Jet dealt with a number of health issues throughout adolescence and young adulthood that gradually resulted in vocal cord paralysis. A botched surgery to save his voice only made things worse. He still had a bit of a voice by the time he and his brother met Jay, but he lost it entirely a few years into their collective bounty hunting careers.
Fortunately, by that time, Jet and his brother had sufficiently taught Jay their sign language—which Jet himself had been fluent in since childhood since his brother was born Deaf—so communication wasn’t hampered between the three.
Jet, his brother, and Jay had a fair run for a good while, but eventually they suffered a series of poor bounties that put them in tight financial straits. Jet’s gambling hobby spiraled into an addiction during this time, and this only made their collective financial situation worse until Jet finally came clean about the habit. His brother and Jay helped him break the habit, but it was still some time before their finances stabilized.
Eventually, however, things stabilized enough that Jet’s brother finally was able to start pursuing his own lifelong dream of saving up for university. Jet and Jay agreed to help him, and eventually they saved up to send him off to a prestigious university in the Solar Federation.
Jet and Jay continued bounty hunting while Jet’s brother completed his education and became a well-reputed physicist, and nowadays he occasionally repays Jet and Jay’s help with help of his own.
Saffron Crew: Jayesh “Jay” Abhijeet
Jayesh Abhijeet was the oldest of three children born to two Polaris agents. His early childhood was one of craving the few moments his parents came home, until one day they never did. His parents were captured and arrested on a job, accused of being spies, and were never acquitted, leaving Jayesh and his two baby sisters to be fully and legally raised by their maternal grandmother.
After that, life was more stable and happy for Jayesh and his sisters. Jayesh did his best to be a good helper to his Nani, a good big brother to his sisters, and a good member of his community. But he still got into his fair share of mischief.
When he was fifteen, that mischief led him and a friend to discover an old cave in the mountains of Shensaati, just outside their local oasis. It was an ancient sanctuary, a shrine, wherein two bronze katars rested. His friend tried taking the katars, but they kept teleporting out of his hands. More messing around led to a pillar nearly falling on his friend, so almost as a reflex, Jay took the katars himself to save his friend. The katars stayed in his hands.
Upon returning home, Jay’s people saw him wielding the katars and praised him as a new incarnation of a folkloric hero. However, accounts of this hero and Jay’s supposed new fate varied, and he found himself pulled in more and more different directions as he got older. Eventually, with his Nani’s blessing, Jay bought a surplus ship and left Shensaati.
After bouncing around for a while, taking odd jobs to make ends meet, Jay met Jet and his brother, a pair of Benthos engineers. Together, the three of them decided to become bounty hunters. Might as well put his “gift” to use, Jay figured. The two Benthos taught him sign language, and the three of them became close friends over time, and remained so even after Jet’s brother left the crew and became a physicist.
Jay remains in contact with his grandmother and his sisters, who both had gotten married some time after he left home, but he hasn’t dared return home himself.
