I fucking hate the way they portrayed these beautiful women in these films. To be degraded like that, smh
Shit I never thought about this
I did.
Dad: Why do you think they do that? Girl: Because the companies who make these try to trick the girls into buying the pink stuff instead of stuff boys want to buy. [x]
that awkward moment when a child understands the harm of forcing gender roles better than most grown male politicians.
Always reblog.
I’m surprised that I haven’t reblogged this, to be honest.
I love that last gif. She looks so frustrated. Like “Um, hello, obviously girls and boys can like anything why doesn’t anybody get that???”
I recently read an article about how women use the word “just” in work life and personal life more than men do because we feel we need to apologize or make whatever we have to say quick. “I’m just writing to say…” “I just want to know…” “Just checking in…”. It seems to trivialize what we have to say.
Don’t apologize or feel you need to make little of what you are saying. Say it with intention. “I’m writing to tell you this…” “I want you to know…” “I’m checking in to make sure…"
Since reading the article I’ve become aware of how much I was adding “just” so soften what I had to say, whether it needed to be softened or not. Say what you have to say with confidence and intent. without apology. what you have to say, no matter what it is, is important.
If I Die In Police Custody…
In 2k15 America, Black people now have to proactively and publicly declare for the record that we, like anyone else, would neither lynch ourselves nor commit suicide while in police custody.
This is (apparently) necessary now because if we are caught being human and - even once - state that we were even momentarily sad or depressed, that single statement alone can and will be used against us by corporate media and the police to blame us for our own murders…at the hands of the police.

What triggers my anger is when that person who happens to be a female says: “I don’t need feminism. I don’t need to be liberated.”
How about you tell that to:
that Moroccan girl who killed herself after being forcibly married to her rapist (x)
that 11-year-old Texan girl who got raped by 18 men while the New York Times said she “dressed older than her age.” (x)
Reyhaneh Jabari, an Iranian woman who was tortured in jail then hanged after killing the man who was going to rape her. (x)
Nojood Al-Ali from Yemen who got divorced when she was 10. (x)
the 16-year-old girl from Ohio who got raped and filmed at a party by 2 boys, while CNN reporters talked about the bright futures of the rapists as athletes. (x)
the 94 women in Jordan who were legally married to their rapists, only in 2014. (x)
the 8-year-old girl who was married to a man 5 times her age, and died on the day of her wedding because she suffered from bleeding and uterine rupture after intercourse. (x)
the 25 Palestinian women who were killed by either their brother or father, in order to “protect their honor” only in 2013. (x)
the 99% of Egyptian women and 90% of Yemeni women who have experienced sexual harassment (x) (x)
You still don’t need feminism?
Casual reminder that her body is as amazing as her tennis skills
Still tryna figure out where she looks like a man.
Problematic fave. Is she the only celebrity defending Amandla Stenberg?
This is 100% real shit
oh my lord this pleases me

“More than almost any other current band, Warpaint’s mysterious alchemy relies equally on each band member and the interplay between them. Drummer Stella Mozgawa is crucial to this: slipping seamlessly into the band’s extended jams but always reigning it in from mere noodling, she’s one of the best modern players around.“

The year is 2015, and you still have to explain to adult men AND women that there’s no such thing as a “tight” or “loose” vagina, because it’s a muscle that expands and contracts depending on a variety of reasons. Or that a woman does not pee out of her vagina. Or that reaching an orgasm during sexual assault does not mean the person enjoyed it. Or that abortion is not the destruction of a fetus, but is of a clump of cells. That the length of a penis has NO relevance to the ability to preform well sexually, since the average vagina is only 3-4 inches long. That pubic hair is not unsanitary or gross, it actually helps protect the sex organs against bacteria, and shaving actually increases chance of infection, abscesses and rashes. But no, we don’t need comprehensive sex ed in America, we’re doing fine!
