I just spent the last hour devouring your streamer/teacher au (phenomenal stuff) and it got me thinking about an offshot where PHM happened and Simon DID manage to get there on time, but since he's just one guy he can't really do much to save Grace. But Stratt just kind of goes "fuck it, we're all dead if Grace fails anyway" and decides to send them off together. But until the probes come back and the truth of PHM goes public, the mysterious disappearance of popular youtuber Simonsays and his husband science teacher Ryland Grace becomes this huge internet mystery rabbit with its own subreddit and conspiracy theories and creepypastas, maybe event a few itch.io games inspired by it. The kind of thing Simonsays might've played... (Meanwhile Simon himself is on Erid having a heated argument about custody arrangements because he somehow now shares his husband with a sentient rock. His life.)

See I would LOVE that! The idea of Stratt sending Simon too because when they wake up they have no memories of each other except “oh my god are we wearing wedding rings? Maybe I’m married to someone back on earth.” But they slowly start falling in love with each other again before they fully get their memories back and are like “OH MY GOD-“ and they both breakdown at that.

Meanwhile back on earth everyone is really worried because their favourite streamer hasn’t streamed in a long time without any word of whether or not he’s still alive. They’re also worried that if something has happened to Simon, papa star must be grieving too much to let them know.
