Have to share and brag about the best honeymoon I could have asked for!
Chance and I have been married almost three years now, and a few weeks ago finally got to go on our honeymoon to AlienCon in Pasadena, CA.
It was SO much fun! I am so grateful to have a loving and adventurous husband who let me choose the destination of our honeymoon. Iâve always been a UFO nut, and of course the X-Files is my all time favourite nerd thing! No shame, Fox Mulder is also my favourite fictional character. David Duchovny is an AMAZING actor all around and so the fact that I got to actually MEET him is a dream come true! He even told us we have the right shirts on!
Now that Iâm home I plan on joining the local MUFON chapter and really pursuing this growing interest. I love the UFO phenomena and am dying to know whatâs out there!
The most important witch tip you will ever read
NEVER abandon professional medical advice and help in favour of witchcraft methods.
For starters, if you donât know who Crowley was (no, not the Supernatural dude), he was a 1900s occultist who coined a portion of what modern witchcraft uses today, such as the word âmagickâ which he, although did not âinventâ, popularised. (youâll learn why I denounce that term and try to educate people who use it in a second). He was, in a nutshell, everything modern society hates. Racist, antisemitic, sexist, you name it and Crowley was it.Â
Crowley wrote several books about the occult, some of them having slightly useful information and still are referenced today, but his occult books are not what I intend to talk about. Little known to most, Crowley wrote an essay entitled âThe Jewish Problemâ, that title is enough of a disgrace, but what is actually IN the writing is atrocious, which I will be going over in a second. In other writing, he refers to Jewish people as âparasitesâ, âa barbarous raceâ, talks about how Jewish people are their bad stereotypes, among other things. This article does a wonderful job of compiling some of his worst quotes and explaining how racist he really is, as well as explaining some of the undertones of the quotes.
âChristians and other troglodytes â but most especially the parasites of man, the Jews (The New Comment on Liber AL, III:11)âÂ
âthe Jews were an entirely barbarous race, incapable of any spiritual pursuit. (preface to 777, printed in The Equinox, Vol. 1, No. 8)â
âA similar case is presented by the Jew, who really does only too often possess the bad qualities for which he is disliked (Confessions, chapter 54)â
âBut in America, the Christian elements have been removed so that wealthy Jews may reach the summit of masonry. (Confessions, chapter 72)â
âIt has been said that every nation has the government which it deserves. I would add, the type of Jew which it deserves. (Confessions, chapter 61)â
âthe Jews are a critically important factor in the social and economic problems of the day (Confessions, chapter 75)â
Anyway, he also used to throw slurs at his Jewish friend Victor Neuburg and admitted to being interested in fascism multiple times.
As for quotes from The Jewish Problem:Â
âIsrael has corrupted the world, whether by conquest, by conversion, or by conspiracy. The Jew has eaten his way into everything.âÂ
âThe Jew, living so long on sufferance, by subterfuge, servility, and self-effacement, has taught his tricks to the whole world.â
And many, many, many more.Â
Some of his comments on other groups of people:Â
About Chinese people: âOne cannot fraternize with the Chinese of the lower classes; one must treat them with absolute contempt and callousnessâ / âThe Chinese does not respect the white man as the Indian does â for his possession of high moral qualities.âÂ
About Mexican people:Â âNeither the coyotes nor the turkey-buzzards will touch a dead Mexican. His flesh has been too thoroughly impregnated with chillies and other pungent condiments.â
About black people:Â âWhere Islam and Christianity meet in open competition, as in some parts of Africa, it is found that only the lowest type of Negro, such as is accustomed to arrange matters with conscience by hanging a rag on a piece of stick, accepts Christianityâ
About Indian people:Â âI am not fond of Benaglis at the best and he as the worst specimen of his race I have ever seen. He was fat and oily, with small piglike treacherous eyes.â
Crowley also heavily used the term âblack magicâ in reference to the âdark artâ types of witchcraft, this term is now considered racist by a good portion of the community. Not to mention he was also a regular user of the N slur! Iâm talking hard-R.
He was also heavily misogynistic and sexist, as if the dude wasnât enough of a crapshoot. Here is a list of all the gross, sexist things heâs said!Â
Anyway,
I never much liked the usage of magic with a K to start with, but Iâve been learning more and more about AC as time has passed, Iâve started denouncing it entirely and educating people about itâs connections to him as best as I can, most people have no idea how awful he is. Itâs scary to think that someone so despicable is still heavily referenced and worshiped in the Occult community, so I wanted to finally make this post. I am asked a lot about it and why I hate the term âmagickâ so much, now you all know. I hope you will consider using the terms witchcraft, or even just magic rather than adding the K at the end, because we all know what the K stands for now, and who it represents. This is not even the beginning of how awful he was, there is so much more that can be dug up. I encourage you to do it, research him and understand how absolutely terrible he was. Please.Â
In conclusion:Â
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Special thanks to @alistaires
I DIDNT KNOW THIS :0
He was a super creep like whenever someone mentions him all I can think is how he would cum in food, ect (for ritual purposes) and he wouldnât tell anyone.
Ew. O.o to be honest this is why I find ritual magic and magicians to be so off-putting. I do know genuinely lovely people who are into such things but so many of them model themselves after Crowley etc and think what theyâre doing is cool and edgy. Firstly magic isnât meant to be cool, itâs not a game. But also thereâs nothing edgy about racism etc. O.o I donât know, I always liked the look of âmagickâ but now I understand that the insinuations are related to a racist edgelord who wanted to make himself seem elitist, no thanks. This would also explain why Iâve been having creepy dreams with him involved. O.o
Yeah⌠I was reading up on Crowley for writing research, as Iâve been wanting to get some details right for a project. Anyway, just the historical foreword to his Book IV sent up about a dozen red flags, which it seemed as if the guest writer was attempting to gloss overâI just got a huge sense that there was much âin between the linesâ that actually might make people less excited to read a Crowley book, so it couldnât get published in one.
Lo and behold, a few minutes of independent research later, I found out that he tended to go through women like tissue paper, but at one point was married to one Rose Edith Kelly. She was who from which he received much of his guidance for The Book of the Lawâshe would go into a trance via ritual and would dictate knowledge for him. This was a role he often had women in his life fulfillâhe would typically draw them into his circle, ply them with substances and with his noteworthy charisma, and before long, they would start spouting secret knowledge on his behalf, often enduring some very questionable conditions. Anyway, Rose and him had two children, and it is said she developed a drinking problem, but it is also fact he committed her to an asylum for âalcohol dementiaâ in her thirties a couple years after their divorce. Further research uncovered another noteworthy name: Mary Desti, who it seems Crowley met the same year he had Rose committed. She was the âseerâ who revealed much of his seminal Book IV. Her son, the playwright Preston Sturges, was none-too-happy to recount that in her induced trances, if she stepped out of line in any way, including if she would start a sentence with âIâ, Crowley would slice open her arm with a penknife. Some may start to wonder less why Rose started to drink. Mary would later leave Crowley as well, and Crowley would head over to another mistress, and the train of the worldâs fascination with him would keep rolling.
I could go on for ages; this is an exceedingly small sample of how he treated those nearest and âdearestâ to him. It honestly put me off using the term âmagickâ in my project and deeply put me off using many other elements of his work. The sanitized elements that trickled down and insinuated themselves into later traditions⌠I suspect there is good reason those survived, but lionizing Crowley himself is not an act I think I could look at without some suspicion.
Ew⌠O.o and Iâm guessing he simply said that these things were revealed to him with no credit to the women involved. When you say âseerâ do you think itâs more likely that she was simply being put into an altered state of consciousness and suggested to rather than actually being given wisdom by spirits?
MY BLESSINGS UPON THIS ENTIRE POST
Yeah Crowley was an arsehole and half the reason I side-eye âceremonialâ magicians.
I donât understand how people can still respect this man, he was just the fucking worst. I mean there is all this with him being a racist piece of trash which is justâŚuck I swear everything that can be wrong with a person was wrong with this man. then there is just anything involving âThe Abbey of Thelemaâ where he had MANY followers ,male and female, and had ritual sex with them regularly and that he had the children watch the sex âritualsâ. It was incredibly unclean and disgusting and at least one infant and a man died while living there due to the conditions (the man drank polluted water).
But you know to Crowley it was âperfectly happy ⌠my idea of heaven.â

Retro Inspired Patches For Empaths, Healers & Starseeds by Jeff Finley
Artist Jeff Finley from StarseedSupplyCo first began to chanel his inner starseed when he sought to heal his depression. He used his creativity as an instrument by starting a blog where he discusses his philosophical ideas. On the road to recover from depression, he experienced numerous out of body experiences and a spiritual awakening. The following year, one of his shamanic healers told him he was a Starseed. He educates us on what it means to be a starseed. He writes,
âA Starseed is a term that would describe a person who has awakened to their cosmic consciousness and infinite nature. They often feel an extreme sense of purpose on this planet, although they may not know what that purpose is. If youâre reading this, you are probably a Starseed. They often feel out of place or alien, like they do not belong here on Earth or with their families or society. They might do a good job blending in, but it often comes at the expense of their well-being. Many Starseeds find themselves dealing with depression throughout their life until they are able to fully be themselves and express their own unique gifts and purpose. Some Starseeds have a strong resonance with extra-terrestrial beings as either guides or soul families. They may have direct contact through channeling, astral projection, dreams, or intuitive or psychic abilities. Others are just fascinated or have a strong attraction to aliens.
Some may not resonate at all with the Starseed label, but still have a similar mission. Maybe theyâre just healers, empaths, visionaries, or conscious creators. They are prolilfic makers, inspiring leaders, lightworkers, or gifted artists.â
Healers, Empaths, Introverts & Starseed, you can find a patch here!

The problem of edgy anti-theists isnât just that they look at white evangelical Protestantism and go âall religions is the sameâ but that they themselves adopt a Protestant mode of thinking about religion. For them religion is constituted as A) the authoritative content of sacred texts and B) unwavering literalistic belief. But religion is more like a set of dynamic and shifting processes, institutions, and practices and without that recognition the critique of religion (which DOES need doing) will always be shallow and chauvinistic

before the term hippie was coined, the press briefly used the phrase âhappenersâ
I love ancient religions because often, in the source material, the death and death-adjacent deities are like chill as fuck.
My favorite example is Hades. He gets the Underworld mostly because his younger brothers put their fingers on their noses and said ânot it.â So like a good big-bro he goes down there and proceeds to basically be the god of bureaucracy.
He gets everything set up so he doesnât actually have to do anything. Thanatos is the God of Death (also chill as fuck) and heâs the one who ends lives (but only off the shopping list the Fates give him), Hermesâ psychopomps are the ones who bring the souls down, itâs three dead guys who are the ones to judge your soul, and the fearsome three-headed guard dog⌠Hades named him Spot.
All the shitty stuff that goes on in Tartarus (Hell), yeah, thatâs mostly Zeusâ doing. Hades doesnât come up with the punishments, just provides the acreage. And when gods come down and want to bring people back to life (often after some god has gotten them killed), Hades is like ânah man, paperwork is finished, transferâs complete, let them have their rest, find someone else to be your punching bag.â
As for the whole Persephone thing, that is a strange one. Iâm like 85% sure the story is mostly Demeter propaganda because that goddess is not chill as fuck. I mean, I guess Hades could have kidnapped Persephone with serious malicious intent, but then did a 180 after realizing he was being a total d-bag. Because, seriously, he pretty much lets Persephone take over everything. Like, everyone knew who wore the pants in the Underworld, the motherfucking Iron Queen herself.
And as much as I love Hades in the Hercules animated movie because of the perfect comedic timing of James actually-a-horrible-human-being Woods, yeah, Hades couldnât give a crap about what everyone else was doing. He often stayed neutral in wars, be it between mortals or gods, mostly because death does not discriminate, all souls end up with him in the end.
When it comes to the Underworld, Hades is basically the equivalent of the general manager who pokes his head in now and again to make sure nothing is on fire. The rest of the time heâs playing with his shiny rocks because being Lord of the Underworld meant he also had domain over gold, silver, gemstones, basically all the pretties.
Hell, Hades needs an actual Helm of Fear in order to be intimidating because otherwise, yeah, nope. I like to think of him as Skinny!Steve whist his brothers are like, well, Jason Momoaâs Aquaman (aka Poseidon). Letâs face it, Momoa could kick your ass just by looking at you sideways and may actually be a demi-god.
So, please, if youâre writing Hades in anything, donât make him out to be the modern idea of Satan or Lucifer. Heâs really just an introvert with high functioning organizational skills who loves rocks and women who can kick his ass.
