My Dæmon Koi

Hate being tired. Daemons are fast asleep and my brain is foggy as hell. My internal monologue is boring and repetitive when the daes aren't able to form words. Amazing how great my daemons are at holding actual conversations and not just being stuck in a loop. I need caffeine.

I wish I could remember what it was like before talking to my daemons. How did I break the loops before? Did I have full conversations or was it just daydreams? I must have thought things through with myself, wouldn't have had a daemon appear so easy otherwise when I went looking.

But even with them around my mental loops are still there. They just help. Kind of like posting this is helping but not at the same time. It's making me more aware that I am looping, like my daemons help me be more self aware of other things I do daily.

It just helps give this feeling that they're made of different material than the other organic matter around them. Like, little flecks of rainbow dust clings to their bodies.

Symbolically, it touches upon certain aspects of myself I've been ignoring. But the form was just so big, we opted for a smaller form they could chill in. So, Wren'tu has been a raccon dog since yesterday and, we're really loving it.

And, on the other hand, I've been thinking about how solid Wren'yu seems to be. He doesn't seem to change form at all, but when he does, he usually goes back to being a white rabbit quickly.

It's as if he's like the very center of a solar system, and my other daemon revolves around him in a sense. I'm not sure how to explain it, but Wren'yu is my core. And Wren'tu is the parts of myself that is more prone to change. Or maybe the forms they take at certain times represent what part of myself I am projecting at a given moment.

i love thinking about daemon names! for actual people, i recommend just playing around with names or words or even sounds that appeal to you. they can be real names or they can just be completely made-up, every person’s daemon is unique! i played around with quite a few names before maksen just sounded right and it stuck, i honestly don’t even remember how i first thought of it.

for daemon AUs, i’ve seen a lot of great ideas of making their daemon named something symbolic to the character in latin, or if outside of the AU they had a named sword or something of importance like that, naming the daemon after it. i think looking at latin words or phrases is a great start; i personally love stelmaria, lord asriel’s daemon, who’s name for “stella maris.”
