Examining the Persona Chart of our Ascendant can offer a much more clear view of the image we project to their world. Please understand that much of the available research Persona charts is largely theoretical and my analyses are simply a reflection of my own personal understanding. Here are a few of the most relevant parts of your Ascendant’s Persona Chart.

The Ascendant’s Sun: This is your Ascendant/Rising sign, A.K.A. the sign on the cusp of your 1st house. This is where you are most conscious of the image you project onto others. It’s how you generally assume you come off. This will feel very natural and you are most likely aware of it without giving it much conscious thought. The Ascendant’s Sun is basically the summary of the image you project onto the world around you. For example, if you are a Virgo rising, the sun in your Ascendant’s persona chart will be Virgo. The Ascendant’s Sun House Position: This is the area of life where you are most conscious of the image you project onto others. So if your Ascendant’s Sun is in the 11th house, you may be very conscious of your projected self-image when you’re a part of a group or working with others towards a common goal. The Ascendant’s Moon Sign (Or House Position): This is how you feel you are projecting yourself to the world…. even if it may not be entirely accurate. This is how you believe you are making first impressions, and it can also indicate an image of ourselves that we are emotionally attached to. The Ascendant’s Moon may reveal how we feel about entering new situations and our level of comfort, confidence, or adaptability. Or even our instincts when we meet new people or enter unfamiliar situations. It can also shed light on the role we feel we serve in the world, and the way we expect to be treated because of it. The house containing the Moon can be an extension of this, simply giving it another dimension. For example, if your Ascendant’s persona chart has a Leo Moon, you may expect to be noticed when you walk in the room or expect admiration in new situations in some way. If that Moon happened to be in the 8th house, one may also feel the need to be withdrawn about their emotions in new situations, could feel more comfortable in new situations with less people around, or feel like they have a very intense presence. Here is a post that goes into greater detail of each Moon sign and their characteristics.

The Ascendant’s Ascendant: This can be an indicator of your first impression of the world and the environment you were born into, thus affecting how you approach the world. This is like, the ultimate Ascendant, so naturally it’s an extremely strong indicator of how you would immediately react upon being thrust into a new situation.This placement tends to add on to the traits of the Ascendant’s sun in more gentle or subtle ways. It’s sort of like an extension of your Ascendant, except typically less direct. This can indicate parts of the image you project onto others that you don’t have any explanation for since it could be in a totally different sign from your Ascendant! For example. someone with a Capricorn Rising could project a reserved, self-disciplined, ambitious self-image, while also projecting subtle traits like seeming very affectionate or calming when entering new situations. They could have a sign like Cancer as their Ascendant’s rising sign! (There’s no post on this part of the chart because it’s not very complicated to interpret and is a bit redundant!)

The Ascendant’s Midheaven: This is the projected self-image you strive for. This is your most ideal image of yourself, you may idealize the traits possessed by your Ascendant’s Midheaven than any other part of the persona chart. While the Moon often indicates how we expect others to see us, the Midheaven is how we want other to see us. It’s a perfect indicator of the traits we seek to develop in order to make better first impressions with others. If you strive for others to see you as charming, fair, and smart, and don’t know why, you could have Libra as your Ascendant’s Midheaven! The Ascendant’s Saturn: This can be an indicator of what in your early environment held you back and where you may be hesitant to project your self-image due to feeling restricted, uncomfortable, or some other kind of tension you may not be able to verbalize You may feel awkward about this aspect of life and not feel like you know how to appropriately express it. Here is a post that goes into greater detail of how Saturn through the signs/houses of your Ascendant’s persona can show up in your personality.

The Ascendant’s North Node: Since your North Node is most likely going to be in the same sign in all of your persona charts, think of that sign as your general karmic guide for life, while the house containing the Ascendant’s Persona North Node can show where we need to grow specifically in order to fully develop our projected self image or feel comfortable with our self-expression. Here is a post that goes into greater detail of each North Node house for your Ascendant’s persona chart.

5th house: how you act in the initial stages of a relationship: flirtationship || dalliance || honeymoon phase

7th house: how you act in the actual relationship after the honeymoon phase

8th house: how you act at your most intimate/vulnerable moments || intimacy (in all senses)

Sun aspects illuminate and brighten the planet’s attributes or burn and overshadow them.

Moon aspects connect the planet’s attributes to the native’s emotions and sensitize them.

Mercury aspects intellectualize and express the planet’s attributes or they over-analyse them and make them nervous.

Venus aspects beautify and soften the planet’s attributes or make them vain and artificial.

Mars aspects empower and add drive to the planet’s attributes or exhaust them and make them aggressive.

Jupiter aspects expand and add joy to the planet’s attributes or make them arrogant and greedy.

Saturn aspects refine and structure the planet’s attributes or confine and belittle them. 

Uranus aspects make the planet’s attributes eccentric and ingenious or unpredictable and inappropriate.

Neptune aspects make the planet’s attributes more intuitive and altruistic or delusional and confusing.

You can find the difference between aspects in how the signs work with each other. It can be really hard to solidly tell a difference between a sextile and a trine, since they can bring similar, harmonious effects. However, this does not mean their effects are exactly the same.

While both trines and sextiles are harmonious, the two aspects are very different in what they’re composed of. A trine consists of two signs that are of the same element and polarity while a sextile is composed of two signs that are of different elements, but share the same polarity.

This is important to note because signs that are trine to each other work so naturally and easily to where the native can often not notice the workings of this aspect. This is why people tend to say that trines can either be used for natural talent, or be wasted due to ignorance. The reason why the trine works so naturally is because the two signs involved have the same element, in other words, medium to work with. For example, water signs use emotions as a medium to express themselves, and when two water signs are brought together, they can easily work together because there isn’t an need to change the current medium in hand. When there is no change, there is less room for a misunderstanding between the two signs. However, with no change, there can be a lack of movement and stimulation.

Sextiles however, work harmoniously on different, but compatible mediums due to the same polarity. For example, fire and air signs work well together because both of their mediums (energy and communication) are seen in external environments due to their masculine polarity. Due to the mediums both being external, there is less room for misunderstanding, which makes the aspect harmonious. However, since the mediums involved are different, sextiles do not feel as natural as trines since the native must use two different mediums to express the aspect. Natives with sextiles are often aware of this aspect because it doesn’t feel as natural as a trine and will often consciously express this aspect.

the house your moon is in shows where you feel comforted or seek comfort in. you feel secure in this area and are drawn to that area naturally. it may also be an area you feel the most comforting or nurturing in.

the house your mercury is in shows what you think or communicate about the most, and how you express your ideas. the area the house rules is what you love to think or talk about, or rarely find boredom in.

the house your venus is in shows what you find attractive and beautiful. it shows where you see beauty in yourself, others, and the world. it also represents your values.

the house your mars is in shows where you stick up for and defend yourself. it shows where you will put most of your energy toward, or where your ambitions are.

the house your jupiter is in shows what areas come naturally to you, or areas that are exaggerated. it indicates where you are lucky or the area of life you have a lot of growth in.

the house your saturn is in shows what area you take very seriously and seek responsibility in. you will have obstacles within this area, but it motivates you to work harder and drives you, it teaches you.

the house your uranus is in shows where you will have unexpected changes or developments in. it will show how or where you disregard rules or want justice in.

the house your neptune is in will show an area that seems cluttered or confusing. the boundaries in that area may seem confusing, or you may feel like that area is taken advantage of or deceived. but it also shows where you are inspired.

7th House in astrology is known as a house of relationships. Mostly, it is focused with our romantic partnerships and people we tend to be attracted to but 7th House provides as with knowledge not only related to our future spouses. It is important to remember that 7th also represents our “open” enemies (opposite to the 12th house which is about those “hidden”).  7th House shows you relationships of all kinds. The negative ones too. Aries descendant - your enemies are loud but daring. They may be people who are considered some kind of authority in the community. They will make you their scapegoat and will blame you for everything that goes wrong in their lives. Immature and agressive, always ready to attack whether with words or fists. They hate to lose so they will do EVERYTHING what it takes to not let it happen. Their downfall is their impulsivity. Taurus descendant - your enemies are hedonistic but patient. They tend to put too much emphasis on material things, especially money. They will question your values. Lazy. Never admit if they are wrong because according to them they never are. They do not know how to really change themselves so they will try to convince you that there is no need for it. Their downfall is their stubborness.  Gemini descendant - your enemies are nervous but smart. They will always twists your words. They will try to make you angry and make you look like a madman. Shallow. They will question your knowledge and education. They can also make fun of you ideas and the way you talk. They spend too much time focusing on other people lives. Their downfall is their inner restlessness. Cancer descendant - your enemies are childish but intuitive. They will see the change in your behaviour and try to find out what caused it. They will hide it behind “concerned” facade. They will pretend that they care so you could feel you can trust them but it is all just to feed their own emotional needs. Their downfall is their selfishness.  Leo descendant - your enemies are prideful but bright. They know how to shine. They know how to make people like them. They are too stubborn to admit that they might do something wrong. They will always try to make you look like you are less than them. Less entertaining, less generous, less needed… It all will be projection of their own deep rooted insecurities. Their downfall is their need for validation.  Virgo descendant - your enemies are anxious but cautious. They know how to hold an image of a “good girl/boy”. They are great and planning and will make sure everything will turn out their way. Deep down they are messy and unhappy but they do not know how to ask for help because they take pride in being self-sufficent. Their downfall is their own self- righteousness.  Libra descendant - your enemies are indirect but charming. They are popular and very likeable. They are smart and they have no problem in ruining someone’s reputation. They always need a group of adoration beside them so they would not feel lonely because they have no idea how to face themselves alone. They cannot live without your attention. They may try to befriend your friends. They always talk about peace but at the same time loves to create drama and play a judge. Their downfall is their ignorance of oneself. Scorpio descendant - your enemies are moody but magnetic. They can be very sexy and make people fall for their mysterious aura. They will accuse you of being shallow and materialistic. They will will observe you and wait for a right moment to strike. It is, because they always think you are out there to get them. Ruthless and easily angered, they will feel relieved if something bad happen to you. Deeply down they know they are cruel but are too scared to stop because they do not want other to see their vulnerable side. Their downfall is their own paranoia. Sagittarius descendant - your enemies are preachy but confident. Friendly and optimistic, they easily make people like them. They are insensitive and have no problem in calling you out in front of everyone. They always think that their ideas are the best and that they hold the key to some higher kind of knowledge. Blunt and loud, they are most likely to tell you right in your face that they hate you. They will make fun of your beliefs and education, making you feel like an idiot. Their downfall is their arrogance. 

Fire Sign Moons suffer from restlessness/impatience, frequent disillusion, or impulsiveness? Look to Earth in your chart or incorporate Earth through “earthy” activities or crystals. 

Water Moons easily fall into grudges, unhealthy attachments, and rationale seem out of reach? Incorporate/channel Air elements through air activities or crystals.

The Third House is known as the house of communication because it is in this house where we learn to speak with our conscious. Our communication skills in this sense are deep rooted because the things we say impulsively can be a reflection of how we grew up. Another aspect of this house is intelligence. Essentially, the third house represents how we use our communication skills to spread our knowledge and make an impact within our environment. In the third house we asks ourselves, “How do we best state our case with others, often those we love the most? Will our actions be true to our environment, and our planet, for all time?”

Aries in the Third House: As a doer, you speak with your actions. You are not afraid to take initiative of your own life sometimes refusing the help of others because you can be too impatient. You come up with great ideas and are very expressive in sharing them. Learn that it takes time to get something done, not everything has to be rushed. Patience is a virtue when it comes to communicating and sharing ideas with others. 

Taurus in the Third House: You use your materials and finances as a means to communicatively express yourself. You like to learn about how to continuously increase your wealth so this would have an influence on the people you spend your time talking to. Like the bull, you are stubborn with other people’s ideas, try not to quickly shut them down just because they don’t seem right to you.

Gemini in the Third House: This is a natural placement since Mercury rules the Third House and with it, Gemini and Virgo. Knowledge and wit will come easily to you, and you will have a great capability of sharing it with others. You are highly intellectual and creative, showing a constant interest in learning new things to keep your mind occupied. Because of this, you tend to leave things undone.

Cancer in The Third House: Overthinking and intellectualizing your emotions is a common thing you do. Your emotions are important to you so they affect the way you speak to people and who you choose to speak with. Since you can be highly emotional you wish to speak to those who  only make you feel nurtured and protected. However, you must learn to push away from these emotional limitations and not let them affect your journey of self discovery.

Leo in the Third House: You are very critical in your self-expression. The knowledge you search for is of the kind that will help you shine your light on others. Like the proud lion you are you can be stubborn about what is right or wrong, almost always believing that your right is the truth. However, if you can learn to set your pride aside, you may find yourself collaborating well with others since you are able to enthusiastically share your creative ideas.

Virgo in the Third House: Logical and rational as the Virgo is, this placement brings forth many anxious feelings. You tend to overthink every part of your life, constantly trying to think of ways to be the most efficient. Because of this, you have some of the greatest ideas, but you get too critical to the point where you over think your ideas, bringing you to a halt. Learn to communicate with others for help and you will see that you can achieve many great things once you share your ideas. 

Libra in the Third House: Using your natural charm, you are able to smoothly communicate with others. This helps you network because you have a calm presence that makes you attractive in a way that people are comfortable with you. You are unbiased and want to feel balanced, so you tend to not take sides but stay neutral. You can also be artistic in the way you talk so you may find yourself communicating through music, writing, or painting. 

Scorpio in the Third House: The way you communicate with others is very dark and brooding. You are forceful because you are passionate in what you believe. You tend to force your opinions on others because you want them to see what you see, often finding yourself frustrated. Learn that you must share your acquired knowledge in a selfless way and think more for mankind and how you can help everyone. 

Sagittarius in the Third House: If there’s one thing you want to expand, it’s your mind. Sagittarians are known for seeking adventure and exploring new places, so it only makes sense that the way you communicate and acquire knowledge is going to be very abstract. Education is important to you so you will find yourself tackling on more than one subject, for example, going back to school to major in something else. Explore your mind selflessly and remember that it’s helpful to search for knowledge to help others and not just yourself.

Capricorn in the Third House: Slow and steady is the Capricorn in this placement. You take your time and there is nothing wrong with that, you just learn at a different speed than others. However, this might cause you to become introverted so you tend to not communicate well. You are more interested in finding out how to achieve your goals but struggle in putting these ideas into actions. You must remember that in order to fully achieve your goals you need to communicate with the people around you and do the things you aim for.

Aquarius in the Third House: You are very idealistic and out of this world with the views and beliefs you express to people. Sometimes you come off as an extremist because you feel very strongly about your beliefs although people are more interested in the now and not so much the future. You do well in gathering groups and networking, but when doing this, do not forget to stand up for your ideas because although a little out of other people’s element, that just might be the idea everyone is searching for.
