I started my review of the #dazedfashionforum yesterday so today let's continue. After the lunch break, I managed to sneak in another talk before my afternoon #workshop . The fantastic trio made out of designer @garethpughstudio stylist Katie Shillingford who is the fashion director of @anothermagazine and #filmmaker @ruthhogben interviewed by @oliviajsinger talked about how need and financial restrictions sometimes drive creativity and about the importance of finding like minded people who can help you during those times when you feel you can't help yourself. It weighed a lot because it reminded everyone that #fashion is not some sort of lonely #journey even though it feels that way when everything revolves around names and brands. Even the best of the best have shoulders to cry on and people to turn to for help and support. Best piece of advice from the talk came from Ruth Hogben, who talked us through how showing your mistakes and #doodles to the people you respect and who understand your work can sometimes lead to amazing #visual feats, like the video which was screened as part of Gareth's last collection, which was inspired by football #hooligans and individuals who act based on group mentality. I loved the parallel between the three suggesting we find out peers and stick with them and the theme of the collection.
