how i think PMH and fall guy's timelines would mash together in the startstruck/coltland au
I think Tom ryder and ryland grace would've been in a years long relationship when grace was sent on the hail mary. Before grace "left" tom was still kinda an ass but was a lot tamer and was a really good boyfriend (selectivly respectful) but after grace's disappearance/take-off tom got angry and violent (he belived grace chose to leave and die without saying goodbye). He wanted to punish colt because he reminded him so much of grace but also because he wasn't grace. The only thing he could think of when he was crying after killing that guy was how much he wanted grace to be there. He defended colt when the gale wanted him to shoot him because he was graces brother and grace had instilled a weird respect for colt in him while they were dating.
Also Colt knew immediately that grace was forced to leave but had no way to prove it. He has a lot of faith in his brother so he knows he'll find whats needed but also knows hes gonna die/already did so when he brakes his back he obviously has the whole realization that he's not invincible and stuff but also accepts he's gonna die because it means he'll get to see ryland again. Ryland is another reason colt disappeared after the fall
