“wait — what ? cartel i can’t - holly shit where are we going!” she panicked but stopped running after running for a few meters. panting as she was out of breathe already. “stop! stop!”

CARTEL STOPPED WHEN he recognized the voice that was calling out behind him. SHIT. he thought, it was FAYE. his very PREGNANT sister. “aw fuck.” he cursed as he ran back towards her, shielding her just in case the police were coming around the corner. but after a few minutes of silence he concluded that he’d shook em’. “are you okay??” 

“hopefully they don’t tell, i’d rather not have my foster parents be greeted by cops in the morning.”

“ do they know your name? you’re probably safe if they don’t know you. ”

‘y’know, i almost got in a fight with one of these kids on the subway today. it isn’t illegal to punch a twelve year old..right?”

“pretty sure it’s illegal, only if they tell.”

“d’you… d’you know any place that’ll shred stuff for you? like, for free?”

there’s a roll of her eyes at his tone, but doing what he said anyways. “they won’t give a shit about you.” bella just shrugs her shoulder and takes a wallet out of her pocket. “people should know how to lock up their shit.”

“says you.” he scoffed. “you got caught stealing? how the fuck did you get caught?” he shook his head. “they know your name? or just your face?”

“you’re disgusting. and anyway, the line of prostitutes downtown don’t count as girls waitin’ to pet your dick. y’shouldn’t get too close to ‘em though, y’never know how many other gross little dicks they’ve been touchin’ before yours. you’ll get ghonorrhea.” she rolled her eyes. “we can look after ourselves, but thanks. the only one who may need you keepin’ an eye on ‘em is faye.” she glared at him and laughed, “well yeah, i was. y’don’t remember? he always hated it when my dad brought me ‘round on trips with ‘em. always said mama should’ve offered to babysit more.”

“they aren’t prostitutes you piece of shit.” cartel followed his words with a smack to her arm. “i get tested every three months, shut up, you probably have gonorrhea.” he mocked her words, doing his best impression of her. “you’re all stubborn as shit, you especially. you get on my damn nerves y’know?” his facial expression said it all. “i wonder why she didn’t want to.” his words obviously sarcastic. 

“ cartel i can’t just sit back at home and do nothing when my baby is on the way. how am i going to learn to stand on my own feet ? besides - what kind of role model will i be if i won’t be able to show my baby how to not depend on someone ? ” she questioned as a soft sigh left from her lips. as he mentioned to find something that she could do at home, she felt some tears coming up. if there was something faye absolutely hated it definitely were arguments. “ hm - hm, ” faye murmured softly as she slightly nodded her head when cartel mentioned he’d teach the small baby how to survive the world. faye went pale as cartel mentioned clint once more. “ wait - what are you trying to tell me ? ” she questioned, having no idea what her brother was talking about. did he know something ? something that faye isn’t suppose to know. “ they didn’t know anything about it, cartel. they have nothing to do with whatever their father did in the past, ” she mentioned once more. “ he. is innocent cartel. he’s really supportive and really caring. ”

“yes you can, and you will.” he wasn’t going to let up on this. “you have plenty of time to get a job once you pop the thing out and it gets old enough to not need you as much as a newborn does. i’m not saying never go back to work, but right now you should really rest and worry about you and the baby’s health.” cartel had basically stepped up to the plate as the sole male authority figure in the diaz family once their father got shipped off to penitentiary. he felt like it was his responsibility to look after his sister’s, and be that male provider and protector they were missing from their dad. back to the clint subject, cartel shrugged. “i dunno, all i’m saying is it’s just a little strange, and you can’t lie and say you haven’t worried that those type of wacko genes exist and could be passed down. i mean, i know i would be a little worried if a serial killer ran in my child’s family.” he muttered. “but okay, okay, i get it. they’re not him, they’re good people, i trust your judgement. i’m JUST SAYING if anything DOES start to get fishy or weird to you, i’ll handle it.”

“y’know it’s a sin to lie, right? god himself knows no girl with half a brain is gettin’ anywhere near your nasty ass dick.” she shook her head, “and i don’t need birth control advice from you, little guy. i’ve been hittin’ up planned parenthood every few weeks since i turned fourteen, thank you very much.” she reached over and socked him in the arm at his comment, shaking her head at him as she did so. “well thanks, m’glad you think i’d make a good one.”
