cher is new-ish to halston. she’s probably been here for ~a month or two but she’s visited her aunt/uncle and cousins many times before, so there’s a chance ppl may have known her longer! she often came to spend time w the family for a week or two over summer vacations growing up, but nothing too extreme

her mom is the sister of aunt/uncle and she’s not rly thrilled to be moving so far away from where she was raised. its only a ~7 hour drive but she would rather be closer to home

she has an 18 month old daughter named everly but hasn’t had custody of her since just before her first birthday. the father of her child was a former fling of hers that ended on bad terms. she told him she was pregnant and he told her that he didn’t want her to keep it. he is from a pretty wealthy family & his parents were sure that 1. cher had purposefully gotten pregnant to get money from them and 2. she wasn’t fit to be a mom bc she didn’t exactly have the BEST track record w partying & being wild n shit. 

when he found out that cher had kept the baby and wasn’t being the picture perfect stay at home mom that he and his parents wanted for their child/grandchild they took her to court and got sole custody of everly. cher was devastated to have her baby taken from her bc she loved her and had been working 2 jobs just to be able to take care of her without asking for $ from the baby daddy. 

she cleaned up her act to try and get everly back but the baby daddy n his fam had started a bunch of rumors abt her that she was a terrible mom & was shitty 2 the baby and that’s when cher’s mom sent her to clean up her act & live w the vaughns

she has told them a bit about the trials n how she’s trying 2 get everly back but she hasn’t told them that she’s trying to get sole custody and bring everly to live full time with them. 

ok so. that’s her secret in a nutshell & the rest of her im still figuring out. she’s still a bit of a wildcard & will def tell u how she feels but she’s much less open w ppl than she used to be and she’s v untrusting of new ppl, especially men. ever since the mess w her baby daddy she’s v wary of guys in general

she’s bisexual & doesn’t rly talk much about it? it’s just a thing & she hates the whole concept of coming out so if ppl ask or bring it up she’ll tell them but she isn’t rly like. one to just go around shoutin it from the rooftops, y’kno? she’s def had gfs in the past & @ this point prefers girls just bc of the whole custody mess. she’s def a hopeless romantic but she refuses 2 actually admit it. 

she hates that ppl assume she’s rich n snarky bc of her aunt/uncle and their family but she also likes that she doesn’t have to struggle to pay for things anymore. she’s still trying to get used to it but it’s smth she’s gonna miss if she ever leaves
