The feelings and the butterflies

Deep down

Locked in an iron cage

And threw away the key.

Two years.

Two years I have tried to pick at each item locked in the cage.

Shredding them, burning them and destroying them.

But they always reappear.

I avoid you.

So that everything remains buried.

But somehow,

When you look me in the eye,

The pools of blue envelop me,

And you unlock the cage.

A gold glow emits from you once more,

And I find myself drawn to you.

Closer and closer

Until our lips are touching.

You place my heart in your hands,

And replace it after you’ve filled it until it’s ready to burst.

Then, you stop the engine.

Watch me leave,

And walk back to her,

And I have to bury everything once more,
