it’s not a tumblr issue. it’s not a bluesky issue. it’s not a twitter issue. its not an instagram issue. it’s not a tiktok issue. it’s not a fucking reddit issue. it is on every goddamn site i have looked for community. it is on fucking youtube for christ’s sake. it’s in the literature staples. it’s in the academia. it’s in the in-person community. story after story and story responded to with “this isn’t a wide spread issue it’s just happening in [insert whichever specific place that person was].”

i repeat for what feels like the hundredth time though i think it’s only the fifth: if you do not think an axis of oppression exists then you will without a doubt be perpetuating it. 

most transfeminists i have seen over the last three years of observation do not think they can be meaningfully bigoted towards trans men and mascs. they do not think they can meaningfully hurt us. they do not think they need to check their biases. so their biases are going unchecked, and my god is the harm and bigotry abundant.

"Masculinity is always rewarded" Incorrect, women are encouraged to be feminine, not masculine, female masculinity is a marginalized version of masculinity.

I am very very very tired of being told “Oh it's all online” as if the people with these beliefs are not dragging them with them into offline spaces and spreading them to new people who will do the same (and as if we're not hearing new stories from trans men and mascs about it every day) or “Well if you stop engaging in Infighting it'll go away” as if trans men and mascs wanting to talk about the abuse somehow makes them equally culpable, or god forbid the whole “It's all just a psyop!” thing. (Which is all basically just denial atp, and frankly is coming into straight up degendering territory when specifically referring to transgender transphobes)

Idk. It feels like every couple months even our most well meaning allies are finding ways to minimize the problem and, even if unintentionally, paint trans men and mascs as irrational and overreacting.
