Amazing Wildlife and Landscape Workshop January Sale. As the there has been overwhelming interest in the Workshop in October, I have been attempting to secure another week on the stunning Estate in Perthshire. The House is completely booked from March through to November 2021.I am however very pleased to announce that after lengthy discussions and a few strings being pulled etc, I have received confirmation that we have been granted another week from the 15th October π I have also been able to secure an improved deal so its time for a January saleβ¦.. Situated in the breathtakingly beautiful glen of Rannoch, a very traditional highland estate of around 20,000 acres. Surrounded by heather clad hills, birch, oak and pine woods, lochs and wildlife of Highland Perthshire, The cottages is close to Kinloch Rannoch and Loch Rannoch Built by the present owner's great-grandfather as the gate lodge in 1892, this house has spectacular views across the river to Schiehallion mountain. There is a lovely walk from the cottage through the pine woods along the riverside in both directions. To the east a few hundred yards away are some attractive falls amongst the boulders and pine trees. By the house there is a stretch of the river known as the Queen's Pool where you can fish for trout and you can sometimes see salmon. Legend has it that this was where Robert the Bruce ferried his queen across the river. The Estate is managed in sympathy with nature and as a result rewarded with a host of wildlife both common and rare. There are lots of red squirrels. The Loch is the breeding ground for around 27 varieties of birds and in winter there are usually around 40 whooper swans and lots of geese and duck on the loch. A pair of mute swans is here all year round and breeds here, the whoopers migrate in spring to Lapland or Russia. A wealth of wild birds and animals can be seen here such as red deer, roe deer, osprey, buzzard, hen harrier, sparrow hawk, kestrel, ptarmigan, red grouse, black grouse, Scottish crossbill, several kinds of owl, hedgehogs, pine marten, otter and so many more.
