“He’s going to tell you he loves you a million times. He’s going to change your perception on air and tell you the only way that you’ll ever be able to take a full breath is through his lips. You’re going to believe him. You’re going to believe him every damn time. And he’ll be there for parts of it. He’ll hold you on nights just so you’ll grow back weak. He’ll listen to your day and send you flowers and you’re going to remember why you fell in love with him every time he kisses your nose and tells you it’s going to be okay.

But he wont be there when you’re cleaning the blood off of your face and crying in the bathroom. He wont be there to kiss the bruises or the scars he’s left on your body. He wont be there when you wake up in nightmares screaming, and he wont stop if you ask him too.

And you’ll eventually get fed up and promise yourself you’re going to leave.

He’ll go out and get drunk and come home to kiss you again,

and I hope this time you wont be there.

But you probably will.”
