A beat of silence at that.
Musclehyde wasn't wrong, it was the humans and Cardbots working together that had brought Flame Nova to defeat. Even Sky Gallop had turned on him in the end, instead pledging allegiance to Peruru and her cause. Then Flash Vector and Spark Bit had gone down....

He gives a huffy vent and looks off to the side.
"Your superior numbers and coordination brought me down. I'll give you that."
He finally says, tone begrudging.
When he was met with just silence, he looked up to see that Flame Nova turned away. There was a small flit of pride in his core at having gotten the warrior speechless.
Musclehyde jotted that down briefly before his helm tilted to the side, his optics mimicking a raised brow with one slightly squinting and the other opening wider.
"Coordination through the bonds we'd formed. Friendship."
He looked back to his notebook as he continued writing. "It's a force to be reckoned with. The strength of our bonds as friends has bested many enemies and in turn made them into friends, too."
He wants to be angry. In the past, Musclehyde's words would've incited such emotions, gotten a real reaction out of the former Star Guardian.
But that was before Flame Nova had been defeated. Before he had, at least in some way, connected with the holder of the Metal Breath.....
That probably meant he'd already been infected with it's influence. The chains of Dues Machina dragging him down despite it's destruction.
That had to be it. Because now all he can drudge up is a mild annoyance at best, mild derision. Which he directs at the green and white painted mech with a look as much as he can.
"Defeating and sealing a Cardbot by force is called 'friendship' now? Weapon Cards held hostage by the decisions of a child. My own included."

Just starts leaving little warm electrical pulse "kisses" along the elder mech's face after laughing at some joke Robustus says. But catches himself and pulls away, flustering.

"I know the value of discretion and keeping another's trust Mega Ambler." Robustus assures him.
Once the other medic finishes his questions does he reply, "The Autobots are typically more friendly toward neutrals than the Decepticons. But there are always those outside of the norm for any army. I just haven't found a Decepticon that wanted to give me an in to one of their medics."
"Well, perhaps our work can lead to them changing their tune about information exchange. Since it's to the benefit of all. But time will tell."
Ambler replies with a half shrug. It would be up to each Cybertronian faction to open up in their own turn.
"At least one portion of your kind is willing to help."
"We shall see how things occur. In the meantime I'll comm someone I know now while I'm here. May as well get things rolling on it." Robustus notes.
He focuses upon his private comm and sends a discreet ping to his contact. Almost immediately there is a response. He explains what he needs and the contact says he'll make a few comm calls on his behalf.
"Got a hold of the contact, I just need to wait on any replies he gets on his end." he reports.
Ambler waits patiently as Robustus sends out his comms, interested to see such communication in action for another race. Again, the similarities between Cardbots and Cybertronians just fascinating as well as vexing.
"He answered quickly. That is a good sign."
He comments idly, nodding.

He'd left such ideals behind when he'd decided that HE should rule them all instead. He hadn't given up that goal yet, even after being defeated and sealed.
As Flame Nova gave his response, Musclehyde wrote it down without missing a word. Though, he did give a hum and point the end of his pen at the bigger mech once he finished.
"You know, it was that same friendship that stopped your plans. That brought you down."
He went back to writing, including his own thoughts on the paper as he kept his attention on the strokes of ink. "For as grand a hero and warrior as you were, I think you still have some things to learn."

This response got Jun to give a meaningful look to Deep Bite, who'd give another disgruntled noise- but quickly caved. Unable to deny that talking more amicably with the other bot didn't sound bad at all....But...
".....I won't say anything about him anymore......"
He says slowly. Deciding it was small price to pay in order for more cooperation between them.
"Alright! There, it's agreed! No more commentary on Spark Bit!"
Jun enthuses up at Flash Vector after giving Deep Bite a big grin in thanks.
"Good." Flash Vector commented and crossed his arms tighter against his chassis. They can talk about Spark Bit anytime if it included praising him for his coolness and every single positive part of him, but the negative side? Flash Vector would fight him in an instant.
"I'll give him another chance to redeem himself." The racer added, clearly still lacking in the friendly side, but he no longer glared at the shark bot.
What are they suppose to talk about anyway?... Flash Vector never thought that far as he awkwardly stood there waiting for both of them to come up with something first.
As Flash Vector stood there, waiting on Jun or Deep Bite. Jun in turned to the larger bot with an expectant/encouraging expression. Obviously wanting the shark the be the one to start a new conversation.
Why him?!
"I......err......I see that you can go really fast.....are you fast enough to run on water.....?"
Deep Bite tries, racking his processor for what he even knew about the other mech at this point.

"My faith in Deuce Machina suffered a 'death from a thousand cuts', as they say. My conclusions were slowly built over time....in no small part from dealing with Wild Cardbots."
Flame Nova elaborates.
"Both sides of our people are the same. Some are murderous. Others are peaceful. Some are weak. Others are strong. The infighting was just another mechanism for control. Why do you think proper study of the Beast Virus, a pathogen from the very beginnings of our race, has never been performed until now?"
As Flame Nova answered, the reporter wrote down everything he heard as he heard it. Being able to write at the same time as listening was a skill it took him a good while to master, but now he didn't even have to spare a thought to it.
"I see." Such a thing was what he had learned, himself, once natural-borne Wild Cardbots began to join the team. They had been just like Metal Cardbots, he found out. Full of intricacies and quirks and not the mindless brutes that Metal bots had been taught they were for millennia.
"And with that conclusion of Metal and Wild Cardbots essentially being the same, do you see yourself ever possibly befriending any, if ever given the chance or having the desire for a friend?"

Robustus indicates an area of interest on a cardbot diagram, "Like this for example looks a lot like a gestational chamber in a Cybertronian. Yet it sounds as if this Deus Machina did all the new life on your world. I would like to hope this area is a fail-safe. Perhaps it is something that has to be triggered to initiate." he mentions as he moves a finger from it along what looks like a channel that certainly could be valve lining to where it ends at the lowest part of the pelvic region. "You mentioned before that your race has intimate relationships. Is this area here used as part of it?" he asks while pointing at that lowest spot.
Mega Ambler nods along as he follows Robustus' line of inquiry.
"That is the valve, you are correct in recognizing it for what it is."
He points to a spot just above where Robustus was indicating.
"And this is where the spike is housed. While not reproductive, all Cardbots do have both sets of sexual parts. Intercourse, interfacing, is part of that intimacy for us."
A thoughtful hum from Robustus. "A interesting similarity isn't it. For two different species to have the exact same parts for the same purpose. Though we can actually reproduce with interfacing so long as there are no contraceptive devices in place." He looks toward Mega Ambler, "Did you do any tests of there being some sort of currently idle code that could wake up reproductive potential?"
Contraceptives....new concepts for Cardbots. That was for sure-
"Already ahead of you."
Mega confirms as he has the slide change over and shows a screen full of analysis results.
"I ran tests on nine of my compatriots and on myself for a sample size of ten. Across the board, every test showed inert but fully developed coding related to reproduction. All seemingly awaiting some trigger to activate."
He points to one graph in particular.
"This was true no matter the alt-mode type, and regardless if it was a Metal Cardbot or a Wild Cardbot."
He confirms.
Robustus listens and observes quietly, taking in what the fellow medic has to say thoughtfully. "Does this coding have anything in it to show what that trigger would entail?" he asks. "I know a few individuals who do coding. Would be interesting to see what they see in it. I'd like to look at it myself if you'd allow me to have it where it can be looked through."
"THAT we're still investigating, actually."
Mega Ambler admits with a nod, helm tilting at Robustus slightly,
" You and your associates are more than welcome to try your hand at the code. As a part of a species who can reproduce on your own, you'll have a higher chance of recognizing something that I cannot."
He gestures at a nearby terminal,
"The coding can be pulled up here if you want to try now, or later."
He offers.
Robustus moves toward the terminal that Mega Ambler points out. "I assure you that anything they find will be overseen by me. I know the value of keeping coding secrets to a minimum." he mentions.
He opens a small port in his wrist and let's a little hardline cable spool out. This he plugs into the terminal directly and accesses the coding that has been taken. He puts it under his own medical safe locks so only he can release it to a trusted individual.
"I'll have to take this to someone in person. Hopefully my Autobot contact here on Earth knows if one of their scientists has any coding expertise so I don't have to leave to get this done." Robustus mentions.
"Your discretion is appreciated."
Mega Ambler nods his thanks at Rob's forward thinking, not having to ask for the other medic to do so. Even if the pair of them were freely enough sharing medical knowledge to benefit their species mutually, others might now be so inclined.
"So you do have connections to one of the factions, then? The Autobots...?"

Yes. The venom was fairly obvious. But Jun was just glad to stop the upcoming brawl. But that was only step one here.
Step two was-
"I think you two need to spend some quality time together. Learn how to talk things out. I'm sure you two can find some common ground if you did."
Jun's words got Flash Vector snapping his helm back towards the two. "Talk? How am I suppose to talk to him if he keeps insulting my little brother?"
Him? Talking? Getting friendly with other bots?... He ain't against it, but trust didn't come easily with the racer. Especially due to his stubbornness when it came to any one daring to say even the smallest bad word about his brother.
His trust wavered with ease, but he ain't fully against the idea, aka, why he remained standing there instead of disappearing into the shadows.

"I had come to recognize that the 'order' and 'peace' that Deus Machina commanded for were nothing more than excuses for ultimate control. With the Star Guardians as nothing but puppet agents for that yoke."
"The memory core was what I needed to help prove this truth to my brethren."
He answers back, calm and confident in his past decisions. Despite their failure.
Wow, that was an intense answer. Well, he supposed it was expected considering just what his questions were.

"Was there some sort of indicator that gave you that realization? What about your view on the Wild Cardbots that the Star Guardians were formed to destroy? Did you know that there were some Wilds that didn't like fighting and were peaceful?"
