when you finally, finally fucking work up the nerve to check ao3 for something and there is essentially NOTHING there for it

i am thirty or forty years old i do not need to be writing bob's burgers fanfiction just because i am obsessed with the idea of young adult gene and alex being roommates in the world's most confusing situationship while gene goes through the lengthy process of figuring out whatever is going on with his gender identity.

like i do not need to be doing that, i do not have the time.

but also: i feel like i am going legitimately insane over the idea that nobody is already making that kind of content. today's internet truly is a barren wasteland, in the early 2000s i guarantee i could have found my people.
