Working on 'seasick' made me look at the Battle of Manhattan from Connor's perspective and let me just say... the part where he and Travis are split up was actually one of the most emotional parts of writing this lmao. like, I totally understand why Percy is like 'you take half and you take half' (because they need them in two places and Hermes cabin is biggest and the Stolls are the oldest, the counselors, have been at Camp the longest, etc etc) but MAN that shit hurted to write. Thinking about Travis and Connor who are basically twins having to say goodbye and knowing that they might not ever see each other again...... ouch :-(

digging up this old ass post bc I was struck with sibling grief so intense recently (thanks noah kahan) that I started thinking about travis sending his little brother off to (probably) die and I really feel very normal about it
