Lena watched quietly as he scanned his questions, waiting patiently for the next one. She had grown used to interviews; even before she took over the company, she’d been questioned by press on more than one occasion regarding Lex. She knew the process. At Clark’s mention of her winning Superman over, she smiled. “Well, I hope so,” she nodded. “Supergirl certainly seems to trust me enough, so I guess that helps my image in her cousin’s eyes.” It was nice to hear the positive comments, both regarding Superman and the future of the business, and the smile lingered on her lips as Clark posed his next question. “We’ve got a few things in development,” she started, head tilting to one side slightly as she spoke. “Hopefully they’ll be ready to reveal within the next quarter, and of course we have ongoing research to try and identify potential ideas for future developments. And obviously I want to continue trying to repair the damage Lex caused in any way possible.”

The smile that had started to twist upwards at her lips only grew more at his comment, and she gave a small nod of agreement. “I suppose they are.” Her lower lip caught in between her teeth as he continued to speak, confessing just how long he had perhaps wanted to do that. She wanted to answer in kind, though truthfully she couldn’t be sure exactly when she had first entertained such thoughts. She had been so focused on running L-Corp and repairing the damage done to the Luthor name that everything else had taken a back seat, especially her personal relationships. If she had ever considered kissing him, it had been a desire pushed aside and awoken only now that he had taken that first step. “It wasn’t out of line,” she assured him. “I would have made it quite clear if it was.”

“Well, thank you,” she smiled, a soft laugh escaping her at the compliment as she nodded appreciatively. “It’s not been easy, I didn’t expect it to be after everything that’s happened, but I’m trying.” Her head tilted to one side as she listened to the first couple of questions, contemplating the answer for a moment before she spoke. “I’ve always been driven,” she started. “If I put my mind to something, I’m going to give it my all. And in this case, I want to make up for what Lex did.” She paused for a moment before continuing, her expression becoming somewhat somber. “He hurt a lot of good, innocent people, and he’s not going to atone for it himself so I will. I know people aren’t going to forget what he did, but I hope that someday the Luthor name won’t be something met with hostility.”
