about the tt trend "i cant remember your face" for sabo and ace i think its more about how sabo does remember ace but ONLY a younger one; his posters are not that hard to find and the marine probably still celebrates his death to this day

so when sabo picks up a picture he found it doesnt evoke any sense of familiarity, only reminded that he wasnt there when he needed to be,, he is left with the memories of a kid long gone and hold on to them trying to reconvene his version of ace and what he can gather from his life, he wants to miss ace who died during the war as much as he misses the kid he swore brotherhood with

he doesn't recognize ace in how people describe he was ;this tho makes him feel better it means he was still the closest to him and after his disappearance ace couldnt find anyone else that compared to him he remains his only confidant
