The best place to eat sushi in Istanbul is at Quick China, in the fancy neighbourhood Nisantasi. The best ones so far are the Salmon Tempura Roll, Super Crunchy Roll and the Futo maki. Their sweet and sour soup is also really nice. The menu is very elaborate covering Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine. The prices aren't cheap for Turkish standards but It's all just very yummie!

The Galata tower area is a must see place when visiting Istanbul. In a street nearby there is a really nice place to drink Turkish wine for a low price. Their cheese platters are also pretty good. A hidden treasure that I highly recommend. But they do close early at 23:00 o'clock and reservation is usually needed: +90 212 2455657.

If you are an Asian food fan like myself, than you always need to be able to have it. Anywhere on earth. A good place to eat Chinese food for a really good price is the lunch buffet between 12:00 and 15:00 o' clock at Yeni Hong Kong. It's very near the famous Taksim Square, easy to recognize by the Chinese temple-like entrance. Prepare to be stuffed!

A great down to earth restaurant serving proper homemade food. It's a twist on the Turkish cuisine since they serve Circassian food. The Circassians are a minority group in Turkey. Their cuisine is famous for their chicken dish. My favourite in this restaurant is their mezze (as seen in the picuture) and their patato manti; a ravioli kind of pasta. 

Genroku is the best affordable sushi place in Amsterdam for sure. It is all so delicious. From monday till wednesday there is all you can eat and drink for 29,95 euro's. It is so worth it! My favourites are: tekka maki special and spider sushi, sweet patato tempura and vegetable dumplings. It's near the Dam, so easy to find too. www.genroku.nl

A very cosy small place in the city centre of Amsterdam called Gartine makes fresh sandwiches and delicious pies for a reasonable price! They also do High Tea. I recommend the mackerel sandwich with horseradish and the cheesecake. Enjoy! You do need to make a reservation in advance, because it's often full: http://gartine.nl/

Amsterdam finally has a classy looking patisserie for a good price. Opera Prima is specialized in pastries, sweet or savory. With the owners Latin-American roots you can expect dishes like empanadas, or goat mousse tarts with grilled vegetables (see picture). The sweet pies and tarts look amazing too! In the picture you see a framboise macaron with rose scented whipped cream. The ambience than finishes the sensation.

STACH is a great place for fresh meals. Oh and this sandwich, as seen in the pictures, is amazing! It's a freshly made Turkish bread (from the famous döner/meat sandwich place called Lehman's Döner, a few shops further down the street) with a juicy mozzarella layer, rocket and a chilli tomato pesto. It's truely delicious and greatly combined with their cappacino. The sandwich was 3 euro's and the cappacino with soy milk was 2 euro's. Everything @ STACH is either to stay and eat in the shop, or to go. Also good: their carrot salad (jullienne sliced carrot, almonds, leek with an orangeblossom dressing) and the vegetarian curry. Be sure to try this interesting place for quick meals in Amsterdam. FYI: almost everything is biological. 

No need to cross the Ocean for good bagels anymore, 'cause Amsterdam has got its own! My absolute favorite here is the New York Bagel; the smokiness of the pastrami, the creamyness of the cheese, the zingyness of the honey-musterd dressing together with tomato, onion and lettuce makes it so delicous, you'd want to come back and taste it again! For 4,60 euro's it's a great way to lunch when you're around Leidseplein. It also has plenty of vegetarian options. 

Billy's is the best cute place to eat a cupcake (or any other sweet treat) in New York City. Do try a vanilla cake one with chocolate frosting: it's delicious!
