guess who’s back (back back) back again

this time for good hopefully!! as long as I can keep up with my work and other blogs then I will be back on here! 

    Lon’qu was looking around through more crates and snapped his head back when Gaius started laughing. He didn’t understand what was so funny until it was explained. Okay, it was amusing. Lon’qu had to admit that. He even cracked a small smile at the thought. Though he wouldn’t mind wearing a pot for a hat (it’d make him a kid again).

    “It is possible, but I don’t remember having so many ladles and pots. Actually we were very limited. Maybe this is a new shipment or donation? That means the weapons have to be in the came somewhere.” And if not, who in the hell was in charge of the convoy when it was shipped?

    “We better start looking through crates and tents.”

       “ True, true. “ The thief distinctly remembered Stahl complaining about the lack of equipment they had in the kitchens. “ I’m sure they’re somewhere around camp. “ Gaius hopped down from his spot on the crate and set down the checklist on another barrel. 

       “ Where to look first... “ He pondered, thinking of all the possible places crates full of swords would be stored. 

“Ah..mostly by being more creative with a tome than most mages?”

‘ Why – ? What’s gonna happen if I don’t if you’re so worried about it ? ‘

            “Uh-huh. It may seem a little boring now, but I promise it’s not like this all the time.” A ton of people were turned off by the idea of spending time in a bookstore, but as Maggie learned at a young age it’s a wonderful place to escape and enjoy yourself.

            “Well it’s the rainy season, so you may have to wait a bit before a full day of exploration,” she said with a laugh. “But once you do, make sure to check out the small ice cream shop down the road. It’s got some really interesting flavors.” Noting how he now held on the towel at his side, and she took a step forward and offered her hand. “I can take that if you’re done with it.”

            “Hm…since I was fifteen, so a little over five years now.”

       “ I’ll take your word for it - I’ll be able to see properly once this rain clears up. “ Gaius nodded in agreement. Now, the mention of an ice cream shop got him interested - that was one thing he was certain he would check out. 

       “ Really? I’ll make sure to visit there first. “ The redhead handed over the towel as his face lit up with excitement - just the thought of all the new flavours of ice cream he could taste lit him up. “ Thanks again. “ A slight smile pulled on his lips as he crossed his arms across his chest. 

Two sets of green eyes interlocked as the myrmidon’s demeanour became more cautious and admittedly, more cold. Did this man say he was searching for a candy store? How the hell would he find a candy store inside of her army barrack? How does one manage to do something like that? Either he was just plain stupid, or there was something this man was…hiding. Either way, she’d coax it out of him.

A small hand gently clenched the hilt of her blade, which rested comfortably in its sheath against her hip. “Really?” she responded quizzically, her voice monotone and sarcastic, if anything. “You were looking for a candy store in the barracks of a rebel army? Do you really think I’m that stupid?”

       Weary eyes slid over the hand on the sheath. His own, lightly dotted with freckles, slowly moved down to linger over one of his many pockets, cautiously aware of the other’s searching eyes. 

       “ May have got a bit lost I ‘spose. Came lookin’ for directions. “ The thief certainly could have chosen a better lie to tell. The lockpicks burned in his pockets, as though they could just hear the awful lie tumbling from his lips. 

                        ❝ I’m sure I’ll be fine, Gaius.                                         I know how to fend for myself.  ❞

                ❝ REALLY? Mmm~ Sounds dangerous… Okay. ❞             WITH her adrenaline pumping through her veins, she extended index finger towards the bleak red button. The appendage pressed it and awaited the foretold “really bad” occurrence.

   “ Glad you agree. “ A grin pulled it’s way onto his face, the thief’s heart beating that little bit faster as the button was pressed. A few seconds passed, and yet nothing seemed to be happening, even when he glanced round their surroundings.
