          “My apologies, Princess! I’m not usually so messy.”

Good grief – there are ways to make yourself look like an idiot, and then there are Edgar’s ways of making himself look like an idiot. Why are his failures always so spectacular?

          “I just… Haven’t been sleeping very well.”

Perhaps this whole sleep thing really is becoming an issue. He takes a sip of his tea and inhales slowly, comforted by the smell filling his nostrils. Really – how unbecoming, to worry a lady… A Princess, no less!

           “I’m sure I’ll catch up eventually. Sorry if I startled you with my            carelessness.”

“Oh, there’s no need to apologize!” She was already halfway through mopping up the mess at this point, being careful not to get any of the spill on her white gloves. “I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been sleeping well. Should you lie down for a bit, perhaps? Maybe an afternoon nap would be just the thing!”

          “…Highness?”

His gaze remains fixed on the gloved hand upon his arm. For a moment he’s so stunned that the Princess is touching him that he doesn’t notice the puddle on the table.

…When he does, the King jolts on the spot, red-faced and feeling very silly about the whole thing.

          “Oh. Oh my God.”

“Are you feeling ok?” Now that the boiling water matter was out of the way her focus shifted entirely to the king himself. It was obvious that he was embarrassed - but Peach wasn’t concerned about that. More than anything, she was just worried that something was wrong. It wasn’t particularly normal for one to pour their morning beverage all over the breakfast table, after all.

— ✿         Linkel blinked a couple of times as her head popped out of the dress, a blush staining her cheeks. How embarrassing. “ Sorry ya had ta see my undies … ” Linkel mumbled, rubbing her arm sheepishly. This fabric felt really nice … So soft and breathable. No wonder why princesses loved it !! Linkel tried her best not to jitter too much as she buttoned and zippered her up, knowing if she did, she may mess it up !!

As Peach finished, Linkel looked down at the lovely pink ballgown she was wearing. Oh, gosh, this… Was beautiful. Linkel giggled excitedly, jumping a little on her tip toes. Little barefoot gremlin. 

“ D-Do I ?? I-I ain’t know, I ain’t much of a princess … ” Linkel muttered sheepishly, carefully stepping out of the screen. The moment her eyes hit the mirror, she reacted as any princess obsessed little heroine would.

“ … I … ”

“ I’MA PRINCESS !! I’MA REAL PRINCESS !! YEEHAW !! ”She practically screamed, bouncing around and twirling herself dizzy all around the princesses room. She could finally die happy. “ I’M ALL SORTSA PRETTY AN’- ” oops, her screaming was cut short. She may have accidentally tripped and fell on her face.

“ T-That ain’t very princess of me … I’m alright yer highness !! ”

“You look just lovely!!” She stepped back a bit to admire the full gown as Linkel moved towards the mirror, then couldn’t help but start laughing at the other’s excitement when she saw it for herself. When she fell, however, Peach immediately stopped laughing and quickly made her way over.

“Oh dear, are you alright?” She reached down to carefully part the layers of poofy fabric and locate the other ‘princess’‘ face. “You didn’t hurt yourself, did you? You have to be careful walking in these, especially when you’re wearing fancy shoes as well.” She offered Linkel a hand and assisted with the difficult process of getting up without immediately falling over the skirts again.

“Pfft. Boring. I’ve got plenty of that stuff. Though if you got anything particularly rare, I’m happy to give it a look.” Her lack of cooperation was expected, and didn’t annoy him. He only smirked at her, sliding off his left glove. He placed his palm against the front of the safe as if it were an old friend, then began to turn the dial.

With that, he stopped talking. She said she didn’t get bored easily, after all. So he merely worked, seeing how long he could keep her complacent and quiet before the lock popped. His luck had always been precarious, but he always tried it anyway.

The first click, a little thump under his palm, and he smiled as if he were a proud father witnessing a newborn baby’s first kick. “Beautiful kingdom you got here, darling,” he said, playful but sincere. “I’ve really enjoyed my visit so far.”

OK, well. That wasn’t going to work. She wasn’t about to stand here and watch this guy break into her safe and do absolutely nothing about it. After he spoke up, the princess rolled her eyes, and a moment later she was moving forward, sliding up to him with hands on her hips while attempting to get herself in between him and the safe. Even to just get his hands off the lock would be a good step one, at this point.

He’s pouring tea. …And in his barely-awake state, he’s missing the teacup.

Roaming through the halls of the manor that was notoriously big, Joker, or Akira Kurusu outside his thief attire in this case, was trying to get his bearings on the layout and where everything was from his assigned room. He had learned where the training area, the mess hall, and lounge was, but there seemed to be more and more to learn about this manor. In terms of getting to know people he had kept his head down to try and not draw attention than he already has, hence his school attire. This way he didn’t have to worry about people trying to take advantage of him, this was a tournament after all.

He was currently searching for the library as he would like to one day pick up some knowledge to help him learn more about this place and the strange creatures around here too that were unfamiliar to him.

By this point, Peach had looked nearly everywhere that she could think to look. The front and back yards, the roof, every training area and games room and lounge she knew of... she had even managed to track down his room and actually knock on the door - but there was no answer. She was about ready to head back to the kitchen and start all over, at this point, but as she rounded the corner of a hallway near the library, she almost ran head-first into a totally unfamiliar person.

“Oh I’d love to join you for lunch outside!”

Kaeli curtsied to the pretty princess then looked into her eyes, happy to follow her to the courtyard.

“Wonderful!!” The princess was so happy to see someone taking her up on her offer. “I have a basket already prepared, and the Toads have set up a few blankets for us outside near the garden!” Hopefully more people would show up if they noticed the two ladies enjoying a picnic - after all, there was more than enough food in the basket!
