    Lon’qu had never really “treated himself” to the real pleasures in life. He was always strict about what he ate and how he had to act in front of others. As a poor boy back in the day, he couldn’t afford any sort of candy either. He was lucky enough to even eat meat and bread every other day.

    These times were different. Lon’qu could afford nearly anything he wanted but refused to get it. Not for himself, at least. Although he had been eyeing some of that delicious looking candy that Gaius always has with him.

    Only a fool would try to ask for some or steal it.

         Dreams. It was always dreams that were the culprits, predators of the sleeping mind, when one was vulnerable and unable to escape. She knew them well, the demons that lurked in the corners of her mind, encroaching, waiting for her to let her guard down. They were the main reason her nights were usually fraught with insomnia, too afraid of the bloody visions that would haunt her pillow to close her eyes; when exhaustion finally closed them, awakefulness always came sudden and drenched in cold sweat. So it was, that fending off her nightly monsters in her usual way that she smelled it. Faint, but it was a stench she could never forget for as long as her miserable life was allowed to remain.

         Someone was afraid.

         Pushing against her diminutive frame and shortened stride, feet eating ground as the tactician followed the rank into the barracks. Pace faltering when she realized where it was coming from, the voice resonating something within her. Only for a moment; the distressed words - slurred by sleep, but still giving some indication to the situation - steeling her resolve. Maintaining speed, throwing her shoulder into the door as hard as her body would allow. It’s solid, but not locked, and she barrels through. He’s lying in bed, moaning, beads of sweat (and tears, what kind of tears? Oh, her heart immediately aches) dotting his face, drenching dark chestnut locks and sheets and pillow. Morgan skidded to a halt at his bedside, hesitating. Do you really think you’re allowed to touch him? a voice in her head hissed. You are ruin and sin. You destroy everything you touch. You are darkness. You are nightmares. You’ll just make it worse. And yet, seeing him lying there…

         Small hands darting out, fumbling the first few times, finally catching one, both hands. So much larger than hers, fingers and palms rough with callouses from camp duties and years of gripping a sword. She squeezed them, tight, as she struggled against his movements and called out earnestly to him.

         “Wake up! Lon’qu, wake up, it’s just a dream!”

         Mouth open, and another terrible sound that stirred another bloody memory surfaced in reaction: a scream, drenched in unadulterated terror, pierced her ears. Sensitive as they were already, Morgan flinched backwards, her hands leaving his to cover her head to both repel both the swordsman’s shrieking and the howl that echoed from the passages of her mind. But he’s awake, and that’s what matters. For several long moments both of them are silent, both recovering from their respective episodes. The ravenette forced herself to recompose herself quickly; he didn’t need to know she was anything out of the ordinary.

         “Th-there’s no need to apologize,” she replied, pasting a concerned frown on her face; it wasn’t hard, she was genuinely worried. She just needed it to be more prominent than her discomfort. “I’m… well, it’s kind of hard not to hear with ears like these.” As she spoke a finger lifted to tap the aforementioned body part. “Taguel, remember? But anyways… are you okay?”

    Sweat constantly ran down his face and the back of his neck. Surely the bedding under him was going to be worn out before long with the stench and salt of the sweat seeping into the sheets. After wiping his face a few times with a gloved hand, Lon’qu seemed okay. Not in tip-top shape, that’s to be sure. Still better than bad.

    “I-I’m still sorry.” He shook his head and sighed. The thick clothes he wore were starting to bother him. The heat was one of Lon’qu’s least favorite things. The he would make him pass out if he left it that way, but he didn’t dare to take any of his clothes off. He did, however, move the blanket on top of him aside. Fanning his face with his hands was the best solution he could come up with in the meantime. 

    “If you heard, then I’m sure someone else did too... Gods my head hurts...” It was pounding. It was like the nightmare was persisting in his waking hours. A mirage would be no different-- “I think I’m alright beside my head. I don’t think I could go back to sleep if I tried.”

    Finally he sat on his heels, mostly calm. A quick flip of the hair revealed even more sweat which he wiped away. He would have to wash his clothes in the morning.

“Wow, not bad buddy boy! Definitely not the easiest guess. Who’d-a thunk I’m someone’s favorite?”

I personally love characters that are “hiding something”. Henry acts as if he has nothing to hide and well, he doesn’t. A regular person would hide such sensitive material, but Henry gives no shits. Characters with no filters are rare.

smol light child. He does quite a lot of development throughout the game and causes the most tear-jerking moments. He’s the reason I’m so looking forward to Kingdom Hearts III!

FFXIII - I do like Snow, but he’s not my favorite! My favorite is quite the opposite of his personality in fact.

KH - Neither Axel (I rped him once--) nor Xigbar. Although both of their “whole” forms were in the same game as my favorite character!

TWEWY - One of my least favorites in fact... Though you are on the right track. They are NOT a Player, and never were.

Okami - Two favorites! I just resonate with the character so well in this game it’s hard to pick just one.

Most likely the easiest guess of them all 

Ghirahim. Sassy. Overdramatic. Probably one of the most pronounced characters in the gaming industry. Then again, many games don’t get the leisure of body language, which was essential in Ghirahim’s characterization.

That explained the dark circles under his eyes. Her gaze went between the mangled remains of the dummy and the swordsman. She couldn’t decide which was in worse shape. Maybe the dummy.

“ You need to put the sword down and get some rest. Now.” She held out her hand and motioned for him to give it over.

    Lon’qu left his hand on the end of the hilt of his blade, making no movement to give it to Kai. Whether Lon’qu or Kai liked it or not, there would be no way to get Lon’qu to go to sleep. Even a curse or charm from Henry couldn’t do anything.
