seriously, stop demanding stuff from cc's whether it's up upload faster or you want a certain series or you want someone to hop in on a REPO game. It's making online spaces insufferable and it also makes us look like ungrateful brats. This especially applies to Life Series hype. It will happen when it happens, no sooner, no later.
The hermits should feel free to make whatever they want in the way we want, and it's our responsibility to be there when they put stuff out there and be grateful for it.
This!

This minecraft short comic called "A strange Coast" made by Ian Flynn I believe, I found in a book from my library I work has to be one of the most beautiful and respectful takes on the game.
It understands minecraft so perfectly and doesn't treat it as childishly as the other stories in it did.
And all that within 10 pages and no word spoken.
This is simple, clean, well drawn and beautiful. Who needs words?
ROUND 1 FIGHT 16
The Well
Daedalus Labyrinth
The Well:
Contained : LyinginBedmon
Series : Witch in the wood
Propaganda : Intended to be one of many horror-movie themed builds in the series, a replica of the well from horror movie The Ring, the Well... wasn't supposed to be a prison. Not until someone sealed Lying -- the Witch -- inside of it. After being trapped inside for an uncertain period of time, the Witch descended into even more madness -- no longer content to recreate horror movie sets, they now intended on becoming a horror movie villain themself, a sort of Fear Itself figure. The ritual they performed to eventually free themself caused the death of approximately 1% of all Lyings across the multiverse, which is a lot, and also technically transed their gender in the process (nice). This ritual also created an amalgam of very angry ghosts called Kyofushin that Witch!Lying then proceeded to trap inside a magical rock so they'd stop bugging them. (This is an extreme oversimplification.) After freeing themself, the Witch turned their former prison into their new base of operations, creating a variety of setups, especially for the magic mod Witchery. There's a straight-up immortality machine in there that makes them virtually unkillable, for one! Still. It was a prison for long enough to drive its sole inhabitant mad. That definitely counts for something. (Also -- the CC behind the series is on Tumblr. They've probably been here longer than most people in MCYTblr and are quite well habituated, so if there are any additional questions or needed propaganda, Lying themself will probably be able to add on. (There's also a short wiki entry on Witch!Lying here, which contains links to every series with them in it.)
Daedalus Labyrinth:
Contained : No one
Series : Most humane minecraft prison series
Propaganda : A "Humane Prison", whatever that means, trap you in a forever-maze you are free to explore, built from ressource you could never use to escape as all wood and stones comes from slabs. If you manage to die, the labyrinth just restart, you spawn in a cell, in the labyrinth, and once again, you are free to go werever in th econfine of this cell. The prison in extremly secure too, using areabans and gamebreaking mechanics to stop any escape by simply kicking the escapees beofre they get too far. The prison is witherproof, drillproof (moslty) elytraproof and netherproof, so you better start to love the labyrinth you are free in as you will never feel the touch of logs again
The Well
Question for horsy people: would the support from his stirrups help much with this, or is he doing the mother of all ab crunches?
It's a combination of stirrup use, center of gravity, extreme muscle control, and a very close working relationship with the horse. In this video, there's a very high likelihood that the archer trained to make this shot on the same horse that they're riding for the final take, and that the horse is already highly trained to carry and recognize archers.
In order to fire an arrow from the back of the horse accurately, you basically have to be so experienced with horseback riding that you can ride a horse running at any speed without ever allowing your butt to touch the saddle, or for the horse's gait to jostle you above waist-height. It's very possible to do, but it's incredibly difficult to learn to do well and maintain that position/pivot to adjust your aim over longer than a few minutes of riding and shooting while also doing everything you can to avoid bouncing as the horse moves. The best archers out there can accurately fire an arrow while standing on their horse's back as the horse is running at a full gallop.
The stirrups are there to help a rider correct their center of gravity if it goes too far in one direction, as well as to signal the horse to turn, speed up, or slow down with specific signals given through the rider squeezing the horse's body with their legs, tapping them with a riding crop (riding crops should NEVER be used hard enough on a horse to hurt them; just to lightly tap the horse on one flank or the other), and/or combination signals through the horse's reins and the pressure they feel from the rider's heels in the stirrups.
The really interesting part lies in the fact that the archer must trust the horse they're riding in order to successfully ride, shoot, and not fall off. I never got into archery when I was riding horses, but I was a barrel racer (where you ride a horse as fast as possible around 3 triangularly arranged barrels so fast that the only thing that keeps you attached to the horse is centripedal force and Death blinking long enough not to see what you're doing). A horse who knows its rider, or is just extremely experienced with carrying people, can modify its own gait and center of balance to help protect their rider from falling.
Horses know when you don't know what you're doing if you're going on a trail ride you payed to go on in a group. They can tell just by feeling you in the saddle whether or not you know how to ride, and if they can trust you to not screw up, fall, and die. The horse is 100% aware that "if the human falls off, they'll be hurt or die", and if the horse likes you, it will try its best to compensate for mistakes you make while riding.
In the above video, the archer is only using one stirrup to support their full weight on the horse due to the angle of the shot. The video is of a classic "drive by" arrow shot, such as if the archer were riding past another enemy archer or mounted warrior in combat. Their right leg (the foot that's actually visible in the shot) and foot are in a prepared position so they can quickly correct their stance and balance themselves again after they've fired the arrow into the target. Only one stirrup is keeping the rider on the horse, and if you watch their left leg carefully, you can see their knee subtly bending in response to every time one of the horse's hooves is about to strike the snow. This effectively neutralizes the jolting energy from the horse throwing off the archer's aim (and the archer themselves), and keeps the rider steady and stable while they aim and fire the bow.
If you look even more carefully, you'll also notice the horse responding to the archer's movement: The moment the archer releases the string to fire the arrow, the horse stops running so aggressively (nostril breathing evens out, front legs stop rising as far into the air with each step). This is to slow down the forward force of the charge and provide an even more stable gait so the archer can safely sit back in the saddle without the bouncing of the horse's galloping jostling the still-unstable archer as they're trying to stabilize their center of gravity in the saddle and take on a more comfortable posture. There's a good chance the horse already knew it was time to slow down from the sound of the "twang" of the bowstring and began slowing down the second it heard it!
Writers: When you're writing characters that work closely with horses, it's absolutely critical to emphasize the relationship between the rider and their horse(s), and to be aware that, with horseback riding, the horse itself is its own character.
You know when Terry Pratchett said 'It doesn't stop being magic just because you know how it works'? Yeah, he meant this.
by the way, I don't know if this has been said over here but some hermitcraft fans on reddit are pushing to nominate tango and decked out for the streamer awards! it's a crowded competition but DO2 was such a huge accomplishment and it would be awesome to see that extra acknowledgement.
you can submit below- you just need to log in using a google account, and you don't need to write an answer for any categories you don't have a stake in. most people are nominating tangotek for best minecraft streamer and decked out 2 as best event!

Poem Title: spooky hunt - a phasmophobia poem 17-08-2023
there's a haunted house across the way a truck drives up and the driver appears placing restricted zone dividers out they return to the truck
a short time later the truck's back opens revealing light and sounds while four figures clamber out they're passing strange equipment about laughing and jostling as they walk up the path to the local haunt they cat call eachother as they joke as they go in equipment all ready to go hunting they sweep the house as they go looking for the haunter's place it calls home
they poke and pry and peer about looking for places that when in doupt that they could hide and save them when the ghost haunts to maim them places found and looking still for the spook to be called and claimed they go back and forth from the house and the truck equipment passing about as they set in the place they think is best the place the haunted spirit rests
the lights flicker flash and a sudden smash the bulb above breaks in a flash the sudden shimmer of spectors frame and then the darkness in the room remains the four react fleeing away towards safe spots that they've claimed a glance to the door and they return toward the room where they once were
equipment placed and they retreat looking as they go for something unique a haunted item or something that has claim on the spector that remains they return singularly but more often in pairs questions asked sometimes ansered depending on the spirits type or desire responses gotten or unreplied they continue their quest to find the spector's identity or even a guess
darkness decends their lights start flicker they go all quiet and turning off their equipment as they scatter and hide and hope that the spector has not seen them as they hid they wait with baited breath and worried minds as the spector moves about closer and further as it hunts and suddenly silence that they hope is the end that the spector is spent and not killing a friend
awhile they spend watching the screen hoping to spot things unseen for movement for lights or things that glow to tell them more of their ghostly foe they go to check the equipent placed in a rush keeping up a soft whispered hush they go with plenty of haste for time they have they will not waste incase the spook resumes it's hunting for a taste
they gather the evidence and make up their minds to the truck they go and write up their finds a decision is made but is it right as the truck drives away into the night
