Pretty much when I draw Neo it isn't the original body of Neo. Like he doesn't have any nanotechnology bc it's a body Eggman made keeping the Neo incident in mind. The most advanced technology is a self repair system, though the healing isn't instant.

Basically Eggman was making the body to try and gain a one-up over Sonic without repeating Metal's rebellion against him, and then he had to abandon it because the base it was located in got raided. He eventually forgot about it after the metal virus and left the base abandoned.

Metal comes across the base in his database and gets curious about why they didn't try and salvage any resources from it after the raid. And then he came across the Neo body and the notes surrounding it, as well as a flash drive from his deleted memories of the Neo incident.

Anyway have some oc slop of a character I started making concepts of a few years ago when I was really into hollow knight :3

But yeah I 100% believe the Neo Armour obsession was about saving Tenna from being cleaved. At least originally.

And then as Spamton got more frustrated with his failures and slowly losing himself in the process, he started shifting the blame to Tenna (in a way he’s not wrong. It’s because he loved Tenna that he fell from fame into what he is now. So pretty much Spam going “uuhhrg I can’t believe this guy made me fall in love with him so much I’d sacrifice everything that I am just for a chance to save him! Stupid TV! >:(“ )
